Versailles is a story about egomania, sex, violence, power, greed, betrayal, intrige and paranoia.
And it's very addictive.

I watched the second season because my friend was in it. She recently finished filming the third (and final) season. I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed it. I sort of got sucked in in spite of myself.

I've only watched the first 2 episodes, so it's too early to say how much I'm going to like/love it.
But it has all the ingredients to satisfy my guilty pleasures.

A few years ago I watched The Borgias (there were two, I watched the European version) and I was so sure I was going to love it...but I didn't.
To be honest it was a big mess, and the Pope was an American actor who didn't even try to disguise his American accent.
We usually get the British language for European stories but since the Borgias weren't English either...I honestly don't know what accent it should be.
Why not just the Italian language?

Anyway, I'm going to watch some more tonight - and NuDynasty of course. I hope there's going to be a dramatic staircase moment.

I totally love this show, find so compelling, I felt seduced into it , which is rather apt.

Is it really cancelled? Have you given away some insider news?

Surely not every show/story that ends is "cancelled"?
I've never expected this series to go on indefinitely. I'm sure he'll die, like King Henry.
As long as it doesn't end before the Versailles estate is finished. that would be like doing a show about the moon landing without the moon landing.
No, wait wait, that would be fantastic ending. It could still be a hoax!

I would just be surprised as I hoped it would be more like the Tudors and take us through his journey. I love the Queen, fab ep when she was in charge.

If it purposely wraps up as their storytelling is over then fine but i hope that's the reason

The Tudors was 38 episodes, Versailles 20 (season 1 & 2) and I guess the third season will also be 10 parts, so it's not a huge difference.
However, King Louis lived 20 years longer than King Henry, so maybe there should be more story (and more episodes). Unless his last years were very dull? It's better to stop when the story is still interesting
