I had an "acting" dream last night -- I somehow was up, and the leading candidate, for the role of The Mummy in a major motion picture. I'm not even sure how this happened, as I had no agent to submit my name for the role, nor was I really sure I wanted the part or to be in the movie at all... I'm not even sure I knew the role was for that of the mummy, or "the lead mummy", until the last moment.

Then there became some weird scandal that began brewing over my getting potentially cast the role, my anonymity being stripped away even before I'd secured the part which might even prevent me from getting the part -- which I was increasingly disinclined to take as the situation progressed anyway.

It was all very elaborate and involved.

Are you sure?
Someone may have broken into your dream and sent your name to the casting agency, the mummy role being a mockery of your age.
But I'm just speculating....

Yeah. That's kinda what I thought.

But all I want to play is Roger Grimes -- dragged out of an icy Colorado lake (even though it's clearly late summer, southern California), laying on a gurney for several months (because I get lazy), kissing on Pamela Sue (and not Emma Samms, godblessher) in a dream sequence, beating up Alexis in a cottage on the outskirts of the estate, and then getting my brains blown out by tiny Baby Fallon (in flashback).

That's the only career I'd want.

But then, I guess a mummy is a corpse, too. So maybe that's the tie-in.

This can only end with an Oscar win. You deserve it after all that!

Last night I dreamt I'd won some kind of competition to record a Madonna concert straight to the GarageBand app on my computer. I think this was present day, but her appearance (after she'd morphed from being Tina Arena, that is) was The Girlie Show era

As she was on-stage and ready to go, I decided I wanted the first song to fade in. However the touchscreen controls (invisible, of course) were either directly in front of her face or actually her face itself was the touchscreen. Naturally, this was tricky as Madge was in the zone and didn't want to indulge me poking at her features.

I heard her snarl at me not to touch a stud piercing just below her nose so I went a bit lower, just above the lip to make the necessary swipe action. Unfortunately, I'd misheard and she'd been telling me I should use the piercing. And what she was trying to prevent was exactly what happened: as I swiped, I knocked her beauty spot clean off her face.

There was very little blood, but she was most ungracious about it.

I did get to keep the mole, though. Roots and all.

Another Dynasty dream: I discovered that the DVDs didn't feature the intros and outros, the episodes played continuously with only the episode title appearing on screen.
The DVD set was a Dutch release and I couldn't remember why I had bought it since I already owned (and own in real life) the UK and US versions.
Suddenly I got very confused and couldn't remember which was what. And then I woke up, thankfully.

When I woke up I was checking all over the bedroom
Dreams can be so powerful that it takes us a while to recover from it.
But....do we know for sure that our dreamworld isn't the real reality? I mean, we're living two lives (awake and asleep) and then we die. And when we're dead, does it even matter what was real and what wasn't? (yeah, I'm still watching the Twilight Zone). And maybe death is our third life....or the beginning of everything.

I'm sometimes stunned by how "real" these nocturnal hallucinations can be, and how the brain has the uncanny ability to seance a person, long-past in your life, and imbue the mental image with all the subtle detail you might not expect nor even think of in waking life. The specific quirks and attributes, the neurotic tension -- it's like they're really there.

It's almost like everyone lives on an objective, universal plane of existence somewhere separate from our earthly activities.

The most amazing thing about a dream to me is how they can seem so real sometimes. For example, last night’s dream is still very vivid in my mind. I was pressure cleaning someone’s house, the entire exterior and their driveway, something I don’t even have much experience with. I can’t tell you who these people even were, but I remember their faces as they appeared in the dream. They were telling me how they wanted the job done and then from there I remember getting ready to paint the entire house as well, another thing I don’t really have much experience doing. I do enjoy getting to do things in my dreams that I normally don’t do though.

I’d like to think that eventually I will dream an entire season of a prime time show. I know it’s already been done but that is my goal.

Last night I was in the process of moving to Moscow. My aunt asked me if I wanted my curtains to be repaired but I replied (rather smugly) that I was "going to buy new ones".
It was very exciting because somehow I believed the city looked like early 20th century with christmassy boulevards and opulent stores visited by the royal family.
And I figured I never had to worry about heat because the buildings are heated by the government - and yet, in the back of my mind I felt I was overlooking something, an issue perhaps?
Then someone distracted me with news about Mireille Mathieu and I forgot all about my curtains.

Last night I dreamt that a family member I’m very close with had a medical issue and it startled me a little. I know they are doing fine and in perfect health but now I keep thinking about the dream and hoping it meant nothing, which thankfully most of them usually do.

Dreams are like horoscopes i.e. as useful as you want them to be.

I figured out what caused me to dream about Moscow featuring Mireille Mathieu, it was a daytime thought that only lasted a few seconds and yet somehow my brains decided to expand that insignificant thought into a whole adventure with more feelings and ideas. I guess I had been thinking about washing my curtains hence the mash-up with Russia.

Sometimes I'm curious to find out what I'm going to dream, it's all so very unpredictable because it can be based on a million things.

I love dreaming. Sometimes I can be so disappointed that what I dreamt wasn’t real. I notice quite often I’ll dream about things related to a problem I’m having. I don’t really like those, as I’m trying to get a good night’s sleep in spite of the problem, not think about it more.

I awoke early this morning at 4 AM to a dream where someone was rapping, gently rapping, at my bathroom window. I looked out the window through the shutters to see a hand knocking away, presumably on a ladder, but I couldn't see the person attached to it. The dream -- and the rapping sound -- unnerved me enough to get up and go check it out.

Then I went back to sleep, in my chair in the living room where I snooze routinely (I haven't slept in my bed since early 2022), and dreamed Linda Evans was rushed by a huge group of children at some kind of lavish oriental ceremony who inadvertently knocked over her glitzy red silk couch and Linda into the mud, Linda feigning embarrassment and the kids all giggling (it was all very friendly).

I then found myself driving my car at night, slowing down in order to turn left when someone knocks on the window and attempts to open the passenger door. I reach over to grab the door or maybe lock it. (Again, I still never see the person, only their arm). I'm then jarred awake suddenly, having grabbed in my sleep at the globe that sits to my right just beside my chair. It's now 7 AM. I turn on the light, and Ukraine is now staring me in the face -- not the part of the world I'm usually looking at when the globe is arranged as it normally is.
