Is the most in season 9?
Is it
Barbara Carerra
Deborah shelton
Jared Martin
Jennilee Harrison
Dack Rambo
John Beck
Marc Singer

From first half of season 9. Were Marc Singer and Jared Martin in an episode together?
So the record might be 7 guest stars?

I've said it before and I'll say it until I die (which, frankly, could be any moment): Bobby should have married Tracey Lawton, Tracey should have died in the Parisian melee, April should have turned non-homicidal stalker who is herself homicided in France, Carter becomes enraged at the Ewings for his daughter's death, Cliff should have been chasing after Michelle's piece of Ewing Oil, and a neglected Afton should have turned to a mourning Bobby as the couple find themselves drawn to each other (thus enraging Cliff).

Bobby & Afton could then marry in phantom Season 15. And then, if not earlier, Audrey Landers could have appeared in the opening credits.

In my head, this is what happened.

20 years later, Bobby & Afton are still married when nuDALLAS sets sail.

Yes, I think that would have had much more storyline potential all around. April would have made a believable stalker, and considering she married Jack because she believed he'd make something of himself, I could see her wanting Bobby for more than just romantic reasons. I would have preferred that to the goody goody she became at the end.

Bobby always had more chemistry with Tracy anyway, and of course anything that ignited the Ewing/McKay feud served as a nice parallel to the Barnes/Ewing feud. I could even buy Bobby ending up with Afton after Tracy's death. Had that been the case, no explanation would have been needed for Cliff's renewed hatred of the Ewings in nuDallas.

Speaking of which, Bobby telling Afton in nuDallas that she caused enough trouble in the past never rang true to me because he hadn't had any animosity towards her.

What on earth has this got to do with amount of guest stars.

Sometimes, people will pick up on something mentioned in a thread and go in a different direction with it. Audrey Landers/Afton was mentioned, and it sparked other ideas.

Moderators generally don't get involved unless it goes completely off the rails into personal attacks or discussing things that have nothing to do with the show.

People typically jump back into the original discussion if they're not interested in the topic shift.

Also, I'm sure you're right that the most "also starring" cast occurred in season 9. The dream season cast photo with both main and recurring cast is huge!

Come on, it´s just Monsieur le Snarky pulling a Spam´s Twin Sister! We can forgive him...can´t we?

Back to topic, I do remember being quite impressed when Season 7 started, especially in the titles for "The Letter". A lot of "Also Starring" there, and the very "Special Guest Star". Also the Dream Season ones, showing us where the Duffster´s salary had gone to... And then, just like that...

To be fair -- which is always my goal and everybody says so -- my Afton post was probably meant for the other thread:

But I'm still not sure.

hm, depending on how you define the term, the first full season had a lot of “guest stars”, perhaps the most:

- Garrison Southworth
- Rita Briggs
- Edison Faraday Haynes
- the dastardly Willie Gust
- Al, Will, and Faye, the fearsome kidnapping gang
- Bobby’s best friend from college (an extra-important character)
- Leanne Rees
- Bobby’s blonde ex Jenna Wade (mistress of powerful businessman and politician Maynard Anderson, who was inexplicably married to Wanda Frick)
- ex-governor Sam Culver and his lovely young wife Donna
- rising country music superstar Garnet McGee
- gallant young oil heir and aspiring writer Kit Mainwaring

and many, many more…

For a single episode. I’m talking about the also starring after the credits
