Which guest star from the three other big soaps could have worked on Falcon Crest?

Guest stars were welcome and popular on Falcon Crest, but on the three other big soaps they often seemed like intruders. For some of them the soap experience was actually a pretty bad one, only a few left a really good impression. Are there any of these well-known stars who would have fit in well on Falcon Crest?

Donna Reed as Jacqueline's sister and Dr. Ranson's mother who arrives for her son's funeral. And it'll keep her off Southfork.

Chris Atkins as a recast Cole Gioberti, who returns in the cursed S9 for Maggie's funeral. In true Black-and-Decker fashion, Cole's become head of an international heroin ring and wants to take over Falcon Crest to grow opium poppies. Joseph (now played by Dallas alumnus Brad Pitt) will be his gun-toting enforcer who machine-guns the entire staff of the vineyard to help the transition along.

Donna Reed and Ava Gardner would probably have been the pick, of the bunch.

In addition to Ava and Donna I would've also cast Joel Grey; as a quirky character in the Freilich era. He could have played Barry Berry (a magician), an acquaintance of Foster Glenn. Would the Berger man a la DYNASTY have worked as a 5th season FALCON CRESTER?

I could see George Hamilton on the show, charming Angela and dating Emma. Perhaps as a long lost cousin or half-brother of Richard?

I reckon Barbara Carrera would have made a Sofia Stavros, with oomph. Furthermore I could have seen Ali McGraw as Julia's friend and fellow nun, in the Oregan Convent.

George Kennedy would have been great as a recurring supporting character, basically to replace Carlo Agretti the neighbour farmer who's always upset about something.

Ricardo Montalban could have been a good acquisition
The Colbys ended in 1987, it could have joined the eighth or ninth season

Yes, Ava Gardner would have been a great fit for Falcon Crest—so it’s no wonder she’s leading the poll.

I wonder, was there any discussion at Lorimar regarding which guest star might fit where—something along the lines of, "We could get Ava Gardner; she’d be perfect for Falcon Crest, but since that’s too obvious, let’s put her on Knots Landing instead, because no one would expect to see her there".

It’s interesting that Barbara Carrera received a few votes. In my opinion, she would have fit in best during season 9.

I believe there was a McKay family around Season 2 that appeared a few times. Carter McKay could have been related to them. Perhaps Barbara Carrera could have been related to Melissa. Perhaps she was her mother who had her as very young teenager or an aunt/older cousin. I could see the two team up to drive Angela nuts lol. I believe it was said Jasper was the oldest of Giuseppe's children, so there must have been other American Giobertis about, perhaps envious of Angela in ownership of Falcon Crest. Ava Gardner could have been Angela's cousin wanting a piece of the pie.
