season 8 when bobby and pam get back together , exellent acting by the two actors and folowed by the first 5 ; the best seasons with great cast

Season 8 in the poll is the dream season. I guess this means I should have gone with the DVD season numbering.
It's all just so confusing which season is which. I thought me writing in the years afterwards should have helped some but apparently not! :giggle:

I'll probably get lynched for this but I really love season 12 (13 DVD COUNT).

I love the year long battle for the company too.

I love it all really. :)

I voted for Season 2 (thanks for not using the Warner numberling) because my best, dearest, earlier memories of "Dallas" come from watching that season in 1982, which was the closest we were to the US airing. We watched the last season in 1992 (one year of delay) but those latter seasons are so dire that they don´t matter...

Also because...I was so young back then... :spinning::dance:

I just started rewatching Season 8 (DVD) after scheming through Season 7 (DVD) and reach to the scene where Katherine comes to check on Bobby at the hospital followed by Lucy and these two seem a bit over dressed for the day time what the heck??

lol wasn't that the season Travilla started working on the show?

Anyway after giving it a lot of thought I voted for season one, four, five, six and nine as my favorite seasons.:)

Season one, because it had some great stand alone episodes that I've watched over and over again. It also did a great job at introducing the characters and bringing us into their world. I also thought Bobby & Pam were so cute when they were newlyweds.

Season four, because it was the season Jock died and I really liked the drama surrounding it and how they dealt with their grief. It took time to get over their loss and it was not brushed underneath the carpet. Also I loved how JR courted Sue Ellen and sent her those yellow roses daily.

Season five, Just a great season over all with the fight between the brothers for control over Ewing Oil. Also JR/SE getting remarried and I was so hooked on their story this season. The end of the season from when Sue Ellen found JR in bed with Holly until the house caught fire are some of the best episodes ever. Such intense great drama. I also like that this season had Cliff & Afton and Lucy & Mickey.

Season six, I love the addition of Priscilla Presley to the show. She was great as Jenna and I love the Bobby & Jenna romance. I also love all the drama surrounding Bobby & Pam and how it was obvious they didn't want to get divorced and yet they did. Katherine's meddling was great. Also the Mickey storyline with Ray was really powerful. Clayton was also a great add to the original cast. I loved MIss Ellie & Clayton as well. JR's reaction when he found out they were going to get married was so funny.

Season nine, I miss Lucy this season but otherwise it was an awesome season. The BD Calhoun drama seemed exciting and I love that Bobby & Pam got remarried. They finally got their second chance together. Also this season introduced April to the show but still had Donna and Pam.

I took a break for a while now I am back to continue rewatching Season 8 (DVD). These are the things I found boring so I fast forward a lot.

1. Eddie and Lucy story
2. Jenna, the trial and Bobby playing detective to help her
3. Pam searching for Mark
4. Mandy and JR
5. Donna Reed as Miss Ellie, I felt she was stiff in a lot of scenes, her facial expressions were horrible and she did not connect with the other actors.
6. Sue Ellen and Jaime's relationship
7. JR cheating on Sue Ellen for the umpteen time.

The only things I really liked were

1. Pam and Bobby reconnecting and Pam, Christopher and Bobby's scenes as a family.
2. The battle over the whether Jason Ewing and Digger Barnes had a share in Ewing Oil. The writers had a great opportunity to really make this a full on battle and give JR something to really quiver about in his leather boots but they botched it.
3. Mandy and Cliff (I liked these two as a couple wished the writers had made their relationship more deep and had them truly fall in love with each other.

I think the show was perhaps at its absolute best between Seasons 3 and 8 perhaps, but my favorite season overall is a toss up between Season 5 and 6. I voted for Season 6.

I wasn't too fond of Pam's search for Mark or Jenna's trial, either. I haven't been too keen on Jenna past Season 7, for that matter.

Almost all of Lucy's storylines I could take or leave, although I personally think her story with Eddie was one of the better ones revolving around her.

I actually liked Mandy and J.R., and Mandy and Cliff, too. I thought Mandy was a good "object" to be placed between Cliff and J.R.

I personally liked Donna Reed as Miss Ellie (although I seem to be in the minority on this). I didn't particularly miss Barbara Bel Geddes during her absence. This isn't to say that Bel Geddes didn't do good work (she most certainly did), but I think the storylines surrounding Miss Ellie in Season 8 (per DVD count) worked well with Reed in the role. She wasn't doing too much as the season went on, some say that's because of Reed, but I honestly don't think that was the reason. Most of the later-season stories that year were centered on Jenna and Pam. Miss Ellie was left out. I've watched a bit of Season 9, and even though Bel Geddes is back this go around, she isn't do too much, either.

Yeah, I wasn't too crazy about Sue Ellen becoming obsessive in wanting to be Jamie's buddy. Also, I think Jenilee Harrison (who isn't the world's greatest actress) has something to do with my dislike of that story. Harrison was okay on Three's Company, but she seems out of place in Dallas.

I did like the Jason Ewing/Digger Barnes story... and Jack coming in near the end of the season. Great!

As much as I like Katherine, I have to give a big fat no to a lot of her outfits!

I might be in the minority here, but I actually liked Pam's search for Mark. Especially the part with the psychic. But aside from that, the only other thing that I truly enjoyed in season 8 (dvd) was Jack. He was such an underused character, in my opinion. I liked the idea of him sort of being a con man who knew how to get what he wanted. I wish that they would've made him work at Ewing Oil and become a devious scheming ally for JR.

I totally agree with this sentiment. Although I preferred Barbara Bel Geddes as Ellie, I didn't have any particular difficulty in accepting Donna Reed in the role. I liked how she redefined the character and made it her own.

Watching Season 10 DVD and just looked at the scene where JR is in his office aiming his gun practicing then Bobby comes in then after Sly comes in and screams like an idiot. Then after Bobby comes out see Sly outside the door covering her eyes what was she afraid of?? This was such a stupid scene she acting like a dumb air head!! The acting was ridiculous.

I loved the 84-85 season. Victoria was really strong her and hit her stride. So many freeze frames of her this this. I also liked 82-83 and 83-84 and say the first third of the dream season. Katherine was fabulous too.

My favorites are DVD count - seasons 5,6, and 7. 6 is my favorite because of the battle over Jock's will. I'm surprised that even though season 4 has the record for most watched Dallas episode, overall it seems like a fairly weak season. Did anyone like that white haired woman named Leslie? She was the worst mistress JR ever had and I honestly didn't see the attraction to her. She got so much TV time that it ruined that season.

I liked 79-80 the best. really good storylines, jock was there, not too many episodes.

I know lots like the 82-83 season but I just hate the Bobby -Pam split and how goofy she's written.

I thoroughly enjoyed the season leading up to when Bobby is shot in J.R.'s office. I know most on soapchat will argue with me about the whole Sue Ellen/Peter Richards story arc but it was a means to an end. J.R. was all over this season. He had a hand in every plot. We had a line up of people wanting him dead; Sue Ellen, Peter Richards, Cliff Barnes and Edgar Randolph. It was going to be "Who Shot J.R.?", all over again except the writers flipped out everyone when Bobby dropped to the floor. Bloody brilliant.
