RIP Mr. Smithers. Your Jeremy always looked more like Mr. Burns rather than Mr. Smithers in "The Simpsons". A solid character actor who had to go through blacklisting just for asking what belonged to him.

Coincidentally, my next video features him often, and will be dedicated to the actor. More news soon.

A fine and versatile actor who delivered many strong performances throughout his career. He was great to watch as Wendell. He enunciated words in such an imperious and precise manner that he gave the impression of being in a permanent state of irritation with those who were beneath him ( and for Wendell that meant everyone). There was a pathology to JR’s actions. It was more difficult to discern one with Wendell and that made him a much darker character than the show’s titular villain. I loved his performance.

Sad news, he was a great Dallas villain. My favourite William Smithers Dallas scene is in the season 10 finale Fall of The House of Ewing . Wendell acquires Ewing Oil and attempts to take down Jock's portrait and JR says "Wendell! Touch that painting and I'll kill you where you stand!" Just brilliant. RIP Mr Smithers.

Sad news. I don't know if any of you remember this but he actually made a few posts on this board around 2010 before the forum crash. At the time he and his wife Lorrie was working on a talk show called "Just Between Us". I sent him a PM and we ended up broadcasting a couple of episodes of their show on the TV Channel I was working at in Sweden at the time. I didn't stay in contact with him. But he was really nice. :)

My condolances to his family, friends and co-stars. Rest in Peace Bill. :rip:
