Let´s say that, in every episode, there has been a reference to previous seasons (1 to 1, and so on). But in episode 6, they will get to the main theme (the true main theme) of this season, and this will make people see what they´ve been watching in a different way. Sometimes I think that Ryan Murphy´s brain exploded partly due to Cory Monteith´s death and its repercussions on "Glee", and partly due to Jessica Lange leaving AHS. Who knows is he´s just become a stepford showrunner and goes to sleep every night to Fletcher Sanitarium like Via the Void and moi...

This week's episode started off a little slow and I was losing interest, but then it all kicked off and things started to make sense, well a little more sense I should add.

I'm just now settling in to watch the fourth episode, having watched the first three yesterday. This is shaping up to be one of my favorite seasons since Asylum. It feels very carefully planned and it's scary as hell. Last season felt a bit meandering and bit broad, though I enjoyed it. I like how tightly focused this season feels.

Yes, I thought this after the first episode and it still stands that way with me.

it's scary as hell.

Which is why I'm finding it so close to the beauty that was Asylum.




In the beginning, I wasn't sure I liked the idea of having it narrated by the original victims, but somehow they've won me over with this kind of story-telling.


There's also more mystery & intrigue happening that I haven't really felt since season two.

Seems like the story is over for now after episode 5, everything's been told.
I just wonder, what kind of twist awaits us next week, and how many of the cast will still be part of the show.
Evan Peters had just one episode so far. I hope we'll get more Kathy Bates and Lady Gaga, although the were "just" actors playing a part so far.

What i find strange is the length of the episodes. Inclusive recap and complete end credids they run less than 38 minutes.
I always thought normal shows nowadays would run somwhat between 41 and 43 minutes?! But AHS runs almost 5 minutes less!
That means more than 22 minutes commercials per hour, that's crazy!

I loved that we know the story so early on and with that, I'm eagerly awaiting the next episode.

Yeah, that's kinda odd, I wonder if the rest of this season continues in the same way.

Maybe there even was an opening credit in every episode from the beginning, and they decided to take it off in the very last minute to underline the documetary aspect (if so, then wrong choice imo).
That would at least explain the shorter running time for me.

I'm curious where they are going to go for the remainder of the season--maybe focusing on the making of the documentary and what happens to the cast and crew?

I'm happy to see Cheyenne Jackson is turning up in the next episode.

I've watched the first 5 minutes, because I just couldn't wait. The plan is to watch tonight with family.



I spotted Cole, but then he's turned up in so many shows I've been watching recently.

First sighting was MELROSE PLACE

Then he popped up on GREY'S ANATOMY, HOMELAND & MAJOR CRIMES. I keep expecting him to turn up as a Cardassian



I'm very intrigued with this week's chapter.

I've seen all of Star Trek, but I don't remember much. I searched to see who he played and he was only in a few episodes, so there is no way I would remember him lol

Same here. The acting wasn't very strong imo, and they ALL failed to convince me in the "reality" part - not even Kathy Bates could sell me that story. That was unless she was falling back into her "Butcher-self", then she was good again.
Seems like "reality" is harder to act than anything else. lol

Yes!

As each character/actor was introduced into the episode I loved the first 30 seconds, which is probably the novelty of seeing these actors play actors.

Then it became a little cringy, or embarrassing, like a badly made documented. I didn't mind Sarah Paulson or Even Peters because they made me laugh, but as they episode continued, even they were beginning to come across as 'too much'

But MAYBE .. just maybe that is all happening on purpose, why we feel that way now (hopefully). Then the acting of everyone would have been spot on!
Because i've heard, that the season in it's last episode (10) turns AGAIN and will take another completly different direction ...

I don't know if I can hold my breath for that long...

I also feel like they are using one of the Halloween movies where it was a reality house only the contestants were getting murdered by the real Michael Myers.

One thing is for sure, they don't mind trying absolutely anything to make a good horror story. Sometimes it's spot on and others not so much.
