Biden's Terrible State of the Union Address

Takeaway's from Biden's State of the Union Address:

Nancy Pelosi's creepy smile and wrist rubbing as Biden talked about the troops breathing toxic smoke from burn pits.

Biden received a standing ovation as he discussed supporting our veterans, despite the fact that they put those veterans in harms way for their own benefit.

Biden's mush brain acts up. He says Putin "will never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian People." No mention of his role in the 2014 Ukranian coup either.

Biden "supports" raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, despite his lack of support for it a year ago when he blamed the non-binding advice of the Senate Parliamentarian.

Insulin costs $10 to make, but Biden wants it to sell for $35 so "drug companies will do very, very well - their profit margins." No mention of universal healthcare, of course.

Like Jimmy Dore said, Biden promised to deliver $2000 stimulus checks, make pot legal, and get rid of student debt, and he didn't deliver on those promises either. The best thing Biden's arguably done is end the Afghanistan war, but he's kept the other wars going while also bombing Somalia and Syria. He also increased the military budget and kept Trump's immigration policies, so the idea that Biden was "harm reduction" after Trump turned out to be false. Biden's promise to his donors that "nothing will fundamentally change" is the one campaign promise he kept, but the blue MAGA chumps still support him. Even Kyle Kulinski lost the plot and said Biden went "full populist."

I think my biggest takeaway from his speech was Lauren Boebert. I gotta say that absolutely floored me! Never expected that one. It was quite a surreal moment.

It's happened before. Both George W. Bush and Barack Obama were heckled by members of Congress while giving the State of the Union Address.

Boebert referenced the 13 service members killed during the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. No word from her on the thousands that died there during the 20 year war. Like Iraq, that war was started by the Bush Administration. Of course, the Dems are just as hypocritical as Boebert. She was called out for her "depravity" as Biden "was trying to honor our fallen," yet they failed to mention that Biden and the Dems voted for the wars that led to those fallen soldiers. The truth is none of these people have clean hands.

Seriously? I agree with you about Pelosi's smile but I thought Biden gave a good speech.
To each their own. He championed the policies he ran on, despite doing nothing in the past year to fight for them. Of course, he also did the typical pandering to the troops. That's something all presidents do, despite sending troops to war to enrich military contractors. Then he praised drug company greed, which also didn't sit well with me.

Confusing the Ukranian people with the Iranians is not something he can help in his current cognitive state, although it's obviously disconcerting. However, what's more upsetting is that he didn't mention his role in the 2014 Ukraine coup, NATO expansion, US opposition to the Nordstream 2 pipeline, or nazi infiltration into Ukraine's military and government. In other words, Biden's maintaining his innocence and pushing the mainstream media narrative that this is an unprovoked attack orchestrated by Putin.

Biden gave yet another terrible State of the Union Address and bragged about being a vile war monger.

Instead of addressing the economic hardship and lack of healthcare millions of Americans face, Biden pledged further allegiance to Ukraine. He's clearly a pro-NATO stooge.

Is this what "negotiating with world leaders" looks like? Also, the Obama Administration contributed to this crisis by backing the 2014 coup in Ukraine.

Yet again, I can safely I don't regret not supporting this demented war monger.

But we're too busy honoring the demented emperor and his new clothes. Pretending Biden's performance was stellar and truthful -- although that squeaky nutjob soccer mom the Republicans sent out to offer the "response" only helped to make Biden look almost 'good' in comparison.

Both parties are garbage, totally corrupt and serve the same masters. It's by design.

Is the collapse near?

Yes, the Republicans certainly aren't sending their "best and brightest" to rebut Biden.

What we need is a Chris Hedges or an Aaron Maté type to provide a cogent rebuttal to Biden's nonsense. But as you said, it's by design that they're kept out of government.

The other hurdle is there are still people who believe one party is superior to another, and they will die on that hill regardless of the evidence presented to them.

I'm not one for making predictions, but I'm sure the collapse of America is inevitable. This sham of a system surely can't sustain itself forever.

Well, Mate and Hedges are pariahs -- because they tell the truth. The establishment wants nothing to do with that.

Unfortunately, part of humankind's innate pattern flawed thinking is that it prefers black-and-white, good-and-bad polarization which only plays into the establishment's control (and its profits). More people are aware of the bogusness of that way of thinking today, but it's still not enough.

The rulers don't care who wins election because it doesn't affect them. And they don't care who wins a war -- as long as nobody ever does, because those wars continue to re-route working class tax dollars into the bloated coffers of the CEOs of the military contractors.

Which is satanic. Literally. They don't care how many innocent people die just so long as they do. It's a Dante-esque money-laundering scheme and nothing more.

A lot of the commentators I heard both in the USA and in the UK said Biden's speech was energetic and well delivered. The general consensus was that he took the fight to Trump and was robust both in pointing out the dangers in electing his immediate predecessor and also in defending his record.

You may not agree with everything in his State of The Union address but I don't think it's accurate to call it terrible. As for Jimmy Dore, I wouldn't trust anything that anti-vaccination conspiracy theorist says.

Ever since Biden's mental state has been in the news, his supporters have made hyperbolic statements about his mental acuity. As if there aren't drugs that help with that.

Also, I say it's terrible because he's pushing for continued war. Biden's "accomplishments" include sending billions to fund foreign wars while doing nothing for people at home.

You consistently smear people who question authority and speak to experts with opposing views as "conspiracy theorists," but you happily express support for war mongers.

And for the record, this thread isn't about Jimmy Dore. He provided commentary on the video, but Biden pushing for continued Ukraine war support speaks for itself. That's how he plans on "taking the fight to Trump." He even accused Trump of "bowing down" to Putin (even though Trump also took some adverse actions against Russia.) Biden's going to "stick it" to Trump by being a craven war monger hell bent on potentially instigating Word War 3. How do the liberals defending this think they're better than Trump?

At home, the disparity between the rich and poor continues to grow, as does homelessness. We also have a border crisis due in large part to sanctions placed on countries like Venezuela, and we're the only industrialized nation without universal healthcare. Big pharma, the media, and government officials lied about the efficacy of lockdowns, masks, and vaccines, but there are still people talking about "anti-vaccination conspiracy theorists." In reality, most of these folks are just skeptics who searched out opinions from experts who weren't associated with big pharma and the government. Many of these people were even vaccinated themselves (and some were injured by it.) So many self-proclaimed liberals have become smugly subservient to power and the war machine in the Trump era. And most absurd of all, they still think they're morally superior to him.

Get off of Wikipedia. Jimmy Dore is not "a conspiracy theorist." If anything, he's a conspiracy analyst. And an astute, if verbose, one.

He's derided because he says truthful things they don't like. So if you "wouldn't trust anything he says" it's because you don't know anything.

You're so righteously naive that it's ridiculous.

PS: don't you realize Biden and the Democrat leadership (as well most of the Republicans) are enthusiastically funding the slaughter in Gaza you so rightly despise??

I wonder if he's forgotten that almost everybody was an "anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist" when Trump was president. That only became forboden when Biden took office.

Personally, I prefer your term of conspiracy analyst. In fact, most liberals were this way before Trump came along. After that, many of them became subservient to power.

I'm glad you pointed this out because I've often thought of mentioning it too. I don't see how one can reconcile supporting Biden with his support of the genocide in Gaza.

But then again, AC once accused people who oppose the Ukraine war of "cozying up to Putin." Such a vile and disingenuous thing to say.

Biden's people sent Boris Johnson to visit Zelenskyy to tell him to stop negotiating with Putin. We wanted the war in Ukraine as a proxy war with Russia. Putin didn't want NATO armaments near Russia. (And, no, Putin is not a good guy). And then we pretended Putin blew up his own pipeline -- even though we did it, and even threatened to do it.

Ukraine cannot win. And never could win. And now, 60 year old disabled people are being forced to the front lines to act as meat shields because half-a-million Ukrainians are dead for no reason.

Who benefits? The military contractors in America. They (and their profits) win as long as no one actually wins and the wars keep going.

They don't care about the rights of Ukrainians, or if they die en masse.

It's Evil. The very definition.

I didn't know Dore was even well enough known to have a Wikipedia page but thank you for drawing my attention to it. Folks, if you're not familiar with who this charlatan is, the first line on his Wikipedia page reads "James Patrick Anthony Dore (born July 26, 1965) is an American stand-up comedian, political commentator, conspiracy theorist, podcaster and YouTube personality." It also details various of his conspiracy theory, many of which I hadn't previously been aware.

I only became aware of him when his nonsense was regularly posted on here during the pandemic when he was spreading distortions and lies about Covid and vaccine safety. How can you say he was saying "truthful things" when the nonsense he was spouting was dangerous and could have lead to people dying.

I wonder if he's forgotten that almost everybody was an "anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist" when Trump was president. That only became forboden when Biden took office.
Well that's not true. I heard very few voices who were anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists at any time, in fact from the very beginning all we heard was that vaccines were the only way out of the pandemic and that was even before the first lockdown. This was the overwhelming opinion of scientists and politicians in the UK and I'm sure in the wider world. The anti-vaccine nonsense is a minority view held by a few dangerous attention seeking people who chose to ignore the overwhelming evidence about the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

PS: don't you realize Biden and the Democrat leadership (as well most of the Republicans) are enthusiastically funding the slaughter in Gaza you so rightly despise??

Biden's support of Israel's genocide is terrible but Trump also totally backs Israel's actions. Just because Biden is wrong on this issue it doesn't mean he isn't the best candidate of those who are running.

Biden's people sent Boris Johnson to visit Zelenskyy to tell him to stop negotiating with Putin.
This simply isn't true. Johnson is a clown but he wouldn't take orders from any American President. Is that another one of Dore's conspiracy theories?

You use the word "nonsense" a lot. There must be a reason for it.

Biden's support of Israel's genocide is terrible but Trump also totally backs Israel's actions. Just because Biden is wrong on this issue it doesn't mean he isn't the best candidate of those who are running.

Once again, nobody here is defending Trump. They're both awful. In sometimes different ways, but at their worst, they're indistinguishable.

This simply isn't true. Johnson is a clown but he wouldn't take orders from any American President. Is that another one of Dore's conspiracy theories?

Your judgment is informed and flawless as always. I've never not said that.

Please learn something.

Yes, because a lot of what Dore says is conspiracy theory nonsense.

All you do is repeat the same things. (And nice try, pretending to have discovered Dore's Wikipedia page for the first time).

And just why are you so convinced Boris wouldn't take orders from an addled American president? Is his integrity so impressive to you? Is your grasp of power really so rudimentary and naive?
