This show is remarkable in how it's changed my opinion of characters time and time again. What Lex has done to Lana regarding the pregnancy was neatly woven and totally unpredictable and then Lionel stepping in to force Lana to stick with Lex was another blinding moment. I never thought it woudl be possible for me to do a complete U-Turn and despise Lex as much as I do right now and even more shocking is how much I'm rooting for Clark & Lana - How is that even possible??

It was a thrilling ride and I wish it woudl have lasted over a few episodes, but at the same time I don't want them to go into overkill with the characters appearing too much.

Smallville is on my radar to watch.

Hey Mel, I don't want to raise your hopes and have you thinking Wonder Woman (the character) appears in Smallville, that was just my excitement kicking in. Carter does appear in the show and it's simply too exciting to let it go without a mention.


I'm nearly at the end of season six and it's still going strong, it's still shocking me with the plot-lines and having me nearly wetting myself at the special guest actors.

I know you mentioned it's on your radar, I was wondering. Do you have any idea on who he special guests are that appear in this show? I don't know if knowing this would shorten the time in which you might start watching it. Then at the same time I'm also wondering if you didn't know, you might not ever know, should you choose not to watch?

I never gave Smallville a second thought, so for every special guest star that appears, I lose myself like a blob of jelly falling off a plate...

The season six finale was totally manic, so many characters with their lives hanging in the balance and the way they all made it through to the next season reminded me of DYNASTY and the Moldavian Wedding


I also figured Lana didn't die and made it look like she was killed, though I had no idea about the clone.

Now we have a cousin for Clark called Kara......

And now she is currently working in a supporting role as the President of the United States on the show about Clark's cousin--Supergirl. Also, on Supergirl is another face you're familiar with--Dr. Meridith Grey's sister, Lexie. Plus we have Jimmy Olson as a regular character and Superman/Clark turns up for an episode or two, as do Lois' father and sister.

Cain also turns up in the Supergirl series as Supergirl's adopted father. Her adoptive mother is played by Helen Slater, from the Supergirl movie.

@Ome, I´m very happy you are enjoying "Smallville". I was faithful to it all the way, though Season 9 and a certain, very annoying baddie almost made me stop watching.

The best of all is that it was a big old soap (when there hardly were any of them!) that sort of became a how-to-do guide for a prequel: it doesn´t matter we know where or how it ends, what matters is how they make us care about all the characters and how fun the whole ride is.

The big con is that, after the first 100 times of seeing one character change due to the meteor thingie, one tends to roll eyes when it happens again and again. Do you like the soundtrack too? I used to joke and call the final scenes, "the barn jukebox scenes"...

Of course, I myself loved all the cameo and guest appearances. At the end, it was like "Dallas" or "Knots Landing": everybody who was acting at the time, showed up in "Smallville". Either that or "Desperate Housewives"...

I think you´ll love "Supergirl" if you take a break after finishing "Smallville", otherwise you might end up jumping off your window instead of taking your car to go to work...

I've been completely thrown by how fantastic this series is and it's reignited my passion for the superhero, something that was lost on me during the 90s.

Absolutely and I've been talking about this with my family, the genius writing and how they've managed to get so many special guest actors from various DC Comic movies and shows.

Yes, the 'freak of the week' has totally run its course on me, and some of the 'filler' type episodes can be a bit of a drag, but then we get some incredibly amazing episodes and twists that makes me forget the duller moments.

So Helen Slater is both Kal-El's birth mother and Kara's adoptive mother. It's so complicated--all these former DC actors playing different DC character's on different DC TV shows.

I'm confused with the name Linda Danvers. Is she the same as Kara? I thought her human name was Kara.

Well, the season 7 cliffhanger was pretty weak in comparison to all the rest, but when a show is this good, I have to take a few weaker stories in hand.



I'm really shocked by the season 8 opener, no Lana, Lex or Kara, more so because I didn't think they really got a decent exit.
