Emmerdale Episode Discussion

I also think that Lydia's storyline was well presented but the Dingle court and Craig being killed didn't add anything overall.

I'm not sure why Tracey and Caleb are being paired up as Tracey and Nate work well together. But then when Nate finds out there will be fireworks.

I've found Aaron's return a weak storyline, he's angry for no real reason.

Viewers have been complaining about Aaron being violent and lashing out... like he's never been like that before...

When, in actual fact, he's been like that for 14 years... as these clips on YouTube illustrate.

He's basically a present day Jackie Merrick... he went off the rails a few times in the 1980s too.

A rather strange thing happen on last night’s episode.

Mack was walking through the village and he was by himself. There was no Charity or Chloe to bump into.

Now that Chloe has trimmed up for Christmas, it will be interesting to see how many shades of green they will have her wearing while in the home.

he’s angry and that Liv’s death plays a part in this.
Mother Nature dropped a caravan on Liv, while she breathed her last breath, Vinny was there not Aaron. Chas punting lady garden Al's way is her choice, and nothing to do with Aaron. He might not approve, but it's a choice Chas exercised. Trying to extort money from Vinny was proof, if it were needed that Aaron is nowt more than a petty and violent crook.

Aaron plumbed new lows, he hit rock bottom and then started mining, when he had the brass neck to insult Dawn, Dawn! Skag rat street walkers plying their trade in Hotton are still several tiers above knuckle dragging Aaron! Not being around to see Aaron's new lows makes Liv the lucky one!

Sad to see Bernice leave, Samantha Giles was excellent. It's odd that all them cutthroat Dingles believed Lydia's claim that she was raped, none of them witnessed anything. God only know how much I enjoy Emmerdale. Tracy at the baby shower in that dress.....

I love Aaron and infact stopped watching Emmerdale for a while when he left, having watched it for so long (and I mean so long) Things just seemed dull when Aaron left and none of the storylines held my attention.

I'm slowly getting back into it now and really enjoy seeing Aaron back. Yes he's angry and always has been with a temper too, but he's a joy to watch and exciting because he can be so unpredictable. Cain is my other favourite which makes me sound like a thug lover! Of course Cain has mellowed a lot in recent years, but I still enjoy him being a bad boy every now and then.

Something said in an episode the other day made me smile, when Dawn became upset at her baby shower she used the expression "tie one on" when referring to what she craved when pregnant with Lucas.
I did a double take, I mean saying tie one on in Emmerdale, I thought I was back watching Dallas (oh I tried so hard not to mention the D word here)
I hadn't realised this was a modern saying? Sounded so strange to hear it on Emmerdale.

I know the soaps like to keep the stories coming fast and thick, but they do my head in by how many times the characters walk aimlessly up and down the village so they can accidentally bump into each other.

I’m glad she’s gone. I think Samantha Giles is a fantastic actress, but TPTB have given her some horrible stories to work on over the past few years. I’m now waiting for David to do one too.

Cain is my other favourite
:shifty::hair:I'm hope that I'm not speaking out of line but.... Cain??? May I draw you attention to fact that he's a rotter and a cad with a skewed moral compass. I've petitioned the Guild Of Thugs & Gangbangers (Yorkshire Chapter) to have his name stricken from the register of approved "hoodlums and thugs". Of course, I'm not one to judge.:hl:

Dawn became upset at her baby shower she used the expression "tie one on" when referring to what she craved when pregnant with Lucas.
That was a great bit of dialogue, completely unexpected and delivered with only the conviction a fiend could muster. Dawn is the best soap opera brass ever. "Tie one on" is a new expression to me, Dawn I salute you.

I’m now waiting for David to do one too.
The man brings nowt to the party. If he was beamed up by man's from Gliese 357, taken to a quite area behind Saturn so space man's and that could carryout an in-depth orifice probing... the trilogy of. .. no-one would notice. Victoria wouldn't as she too busy boom booming his son.

Emmerdale is some contrived nonsense... best soap ever,.

Isn't everybody? But he's a loveable cad and thug is he not? Bit rough as a younger man, but mellowing nicely now with that attractive rough edge.

Cain has always been a believable baddie and has lasted much longer than most. Rotters and thugs unite! Him and his behaviour shouldn't be liked, but it's soap world so it's allowed.

Feel free to judge, I am guilty as charged admitting to my Cain loving crime!

That was a great bit of dialogue,
Yes it was, but maybe not for Emmerdale. It didn't quite sound the same as when Jock Ewing said it and Bobby said it too in his whispered tone. All credit to Dawn for trying though.

The man brings nowt to the party
Poor David, was once such a great character, but yes he definitely needs to shut up shop now for good.

I miss Debbie Dingle!!

best soap ever,.
It is, but for me at the moment I'm liking the rival soap which airs at the same time just a bit more. Lots of it I don't like, but lots I do, Nish (JR) Panasar and the whole who's body is it Christmas thing. Bit exciting.

I’m all for the baddies in our soaps. From Barry in BROOKIE, to Meena in EMMERDALE. From Des Taverner & Cathy Bradford in THE BILL and there has been many great baddies in CORRIE & EASTENDERS.

The Panasar family are brilliant, Suki is my favourite and I’m loving 5 of the 6 possible victims in the Christmas Day killing. Rocky just doesn’t cut it as a baddie compared to the other 5.

I don’t know why, but there is a pattern across all the soaps where they turn strong interesting characters into idiots.

From Des Taverner
Oh wow yes! He was such a good baddie (if that even makes sense) The brilliant Paul Usher. Loved Des' relationship with ReggieBabe, so sweet.

Sometimes I miss The Bill, but luckily it's on every day on Drama and has been repeated loads so I catch an episode when I can.

The Panasar family are brilliant,
They are so good! Love Suki too, but Nish? There's something about Nish. The latest storyline with him, Eve and Ravi was thrilling and tense.

Rocky just doesn’t cut it as a baddie
I agree, he's very watchable and has a little baddie side, but in a more loveable rogue way.

turn strong interesting characters into idiots
They do, it's as though they run out of stories for certain ones and yet others manage to keep fresh for years!

The character has been in the background for a while now.
I read he's going out of it, but thought that was meant to happen ages ago. He's with the one who played Debbie Dingle of course (her name escapes me at the mo) and there was a fall out wasn't there with the producers so she won't be returning?

But David definitely hasn't had much happening lately.

I don’t understand why they write scenes that simply look like something from a toddler’s show.

Mack realising Chloe had figured out they were in the park and him shouting Chloe while running back and forth by the food fan was simply embarrassing. Any normal person panicking would have run off into the park while shouting to their mate to run in the opposite direction.

It’s like when a character walks out on another character during an argument and all they do is shout their name at the closed door.

If I walked out on my wife shouting at me, she would follow me.

All my moans aside, I love that we finally get to see Chloe’s father and what a nice twist it was too.

With Mack’s kidnapping, I kept wondering why they didn’t show Mandy’s involvement. All I could think of was the fact she hasn’t been part of the whole, Mack, Charity, Chloe drama.

So if Mandy isn’t involved, then it must be Harry that is shaving Mack while he is tied up. Whatever happens with this kidnapping story, they must keep Mack with designer stubble, especially as he is dark haired.

As much as I hate Aaron being a nasty piece of work Danny Miller is playing a blinder. I like how we are now seeing a chink in his armour. How is Mack going to get out of this?

Biggie

Telly Talk Hero
Danny Miller is knocking it out the park.. but Aaron should hang his head in shame. The man has the morals of an ally cat.

Mackenze is in a spot of bother. Harry might do everyone a favour and put the lying cheating dog out of his misery.

Dawn and Billy have welcomed Evan into the world. So this would seem the perfect time to remove Cain from it. One in... one out.

Tracy, seriously, put Caleb down and walk away.

Emmerdale is some type of magic.
