How long will it take us to get to 10,000 posts?

Long Lashes

Telly Talk Enforcer
It has its pluses and minuses. Of course I wish it would finally cool down a little but there is also something nice about having warm weather every day. Wearing short sleeved shirts and shorts in November is kind of nice!
It must make dressing easier .. knowing what the weather will be.

Did I ever tell you how our Postman wears shorts all year round? even on frosty days, through deep snow . . he always has his shorts on. He's hardcore is my Postman

We actually had a lot of rain this week as well, which is odd for us this time of year. I’m just glad we didn’t have a major hurricane scare here this season.
Did the rain feel refreshing? which makes me think .. do you ever suffer from droughts? and yes lets keep those pesky hurricanes away this season.

Do you tend to like snow ‘Lashes or are you not a fan of it? I’d give anything to see it again someday but I’m sure once I finally do I’ll be done with it again for a long time.
I do like snow yes :D .. like a child I still get excited when it first starts snowing , luckily it doesn't usually lay around here for long, but on the rare ocassions when its lasted for weeks I become very tired of it. Actually right now about 50 miles north of where we live they have had very heavy snow .. just waiting for it to filter down to us.

Great Aunty ‘Lashes does have a nice wring to it. Congratulations my friend!
Thank you .. at least the 'great' could mean that I am great

I know what you mean though. When the younger people in my family start having children of their own I do start to feel my age a little more.
It adds another generation to the family which means we go up another layer closer to the senior members of the family :yikey: ... although I do like how our families are growing all the time.

I’ve read most of it now. I think I’m about 200 pages in. I gotta say I’m enjoying all the dog and cat GIFS. Those always make me laugh!
I'm so pleased you enjoyed those gifs, they amuse me so much ...

I got quite addicted to these animal gifs, I love them

May I wish you and everyone who celebrated .. a very belated Thanksgiving ..

Your Thanksgiving post in the lounge was so well written, lovely and heartfelt. I hope you had a wonderful day :hugs:

I don't know why but this made me laugh
LOL.gif
... thank you so much for working it out for us @Sarah Danner and feel free to help us achieve this goal, you'd be more than welcome on here anytime .. :gotcha:

I do wonder if we will run out of things to talk about by then but based on the chatterboxes (not me of course) we have on this thread that probably won’t be an issue.
Run out of things to talk about? Lol!

I've been on here for a long time and I'm only just getting warned up :lmao:

Piece of cake!
Yes easy peasy. We can do this :spinning:

It does help. There really isn’t much thought going on when I go to my closet in the morning LOL

No, I don’t think you’ve ever told me that. I do it here year round, of course, but i never thought anyone would do that in the snow. I have to admire his toughness! Isn’t he cold though? I would think he’d have to be in the winter months.

Did the rain feel refreshing?
I’m not a fan of it when I’m working for obvious reasons but I love it at night when I’m sleeping. The sound of rain helps me sleep and it does cool things down a little also.

. do you ever suffer from droughts?
Not too often. We get a lot less rain in the winter months but by then it’s a lot cooler anyway. The rain always seems to find us again here at some point.

and yes lets keep those pesky hurricanes away this season.
The season officially ends December 15, so that’s good! We were very lucky in my part of the state again this year.

I do like snow yes :D .. like a child I still get excited when it first starts snowing ,
And I miss that so much! I‘m thinking about making a trip back up to New York in January so maybe I’ll finally get to see some for the first time in decades.

luckily it doesn't usually lay around here for long, but on the rare ocassions when its lasted for weeks I become very tired of it
I’m sure it gets old fast. I used to feel the same way actually. In Upstate NY we’d get literally buried some years. I didn’t mind it when it was happening but when it lingered around for awhile it would get a little depressing.

Actually right now about 50 miles north of where we live they have had very heavy snow .. just waiting for it to filter down to us.
Well I hope it doesn’t get too bad for you. I remember how bad driving in that stuff can be. Be careful ‘Lashes!

Thank you .. at least the 'great' could mean that I am great
You’re welcome! And you don’t need the ‘great’ in front of your name to be great ‘Lashes. You’re already that in my book.

It adds another generation to the family which means we go up another layer closer to the senior members of the family :yikey: ...
You definitely made me laugh with this one, but so true. It is kind of scary.

although I do like how our families are growing all the time.
Yes, that is the positive thing about it. Babies are pretty cool. We haven’t had one in my family in quite awhile now and it would be nice having one around again soon.

As long as I’m not the one having them, of course.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed those gifs, they amuse me so much ...

funny-crazy-cat-reacting-to-mirror-2yl5vu9gfkdnmven.gif
They’re very addictive, as you say. There’s nothing wrong with laughter. We all need it daily and animals can do a nice job of providing that.

They’re also good at barking or hissing at me all day when I’m just minding my own business.

May I wish you and everyone who celebrated .. a very belated Thanksgiving
Thank you my friend! I really appreciate that.

Your Thanksgiving post in the lounge was so well written, lovely and heartfelt. I hope you had a wonderful day :hugs:
I’m glad you enjoyed reading it! That’s always a tough morning for me so I needed to put some thoughts down and I just ended up posting it. Overall though it was a very nice day. The family, the food, the American Football games, and of course having the day off, all in all it was a nice holiday.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend ‘Lashes, and have a great week ahead!!

Everyone else stopping by here please have a great week as well!!

@LMLDallas78 Over in Hampshire I do great work, belly full of libations, and fridge devoid of beer, and a curiosity that won't quit.

I know DFF is in Florida, Long Lashes is in Lancashire if memory serves, I'm in Basingstoke... I'm curious as to where your geographical location is? Tell me to jog on if I've crossed a line.

There was a time 'Lashes and I were posting so much in this thread (2018-2019) that we'd figure it would be 2024 when we hit 10,000 post. At times we could go through a page within a few days. As long as Telly Talk remains we'll get there ... so keep posting. :bump:

Ooo I can't remember, I think she's about four years old.

That's what I thought. My oldest, Snowie, turned four last month and know you had Orkie beforehand.
Isn't it amazing how quickly your Orchid collection grew? you may need to buy another set of orchid-shelves for the future :cool1 do you still get that same friendly shop assistant giving the poorly plants to you?

At times but I try to keep away from the "Last Chance" shelf that they appear. I do think the orchids that have dropped their blooms do sell when reduced by 75%. I do wonder if they ever throw any away. My last one was last month, luckily it's roots were good. A few I got in August had lost most of their roots and I had to use all my knowledge in orchid care to save them. So far they have remained alive and (fingers crossed) they will recover in time.

No Michelle, my radish growing days are over  all that preparation, careful planting and all I got where two baby sized radishes .. Lol! I wouldn't mind trying to grow leeks next, I've been reading up about them, I love leeks.
Leeks ... the TT Cafe dishwasher has one of those. I've been meaning to tell you that. ;)
Oh Strreetie :love5: I don't usually have favourite plants, but she IS my all time favourite.

Beloved Streetie is still alive in December. We all still live within the Age of Streetie for now. She still loses a few leaves a week and has some minor leaf growth but still not looking good. These dark days of Winter will be hard on her. I just worry one day she'll just give up as she's been through a lot. I just enjoy the days I have with her.

Yes I will be trying yet again  keep your fingers crossed for me.

Please keep us informed when you purchase your next Poinsettia. Will this be the fifth or sixth?
Aw she looks tired :( she's been living a lovely life with you and spending the summers outside, she is one lucky plant to have caught your eye. I hope she perks up and gets her strength back. Thank you for letting us see Michelle.

Whenever I find a good photo of Streetie I'll share it. She'll not changing colors surely this year, she didn't last year as well. She's gotten leggy as I worry about pruning her last Spring and Summer as she wasn't too well then either. Love and attention is all I can give her at this time. This is surely her fifth (forth with me) Christmas so she has had a long life.

I guess I always liked Katherine’s tenacity
Yes I can understand that. Nothing against Morgan Brittany, not sure why I didn't particularly like her, but as for Katherine I felt she was a typical clichéd, very soapy baddie which didn't quite belong in Dallas. Other Soaps are available!

Maybe she'll grow on me, there's a few I didn't like as a youngster, but have grown to appreciate them through older eyes.

As for Kristin I preferred Mary Crosby in the role
Most viewers did. I think I felt more sorry for the original Kristin. She was an attractive girl in a different way. Did they get rid of her because of looks, acting ability or another reason? That's show biz I guess.

I felt Mary Crosby overdid it a great deal, but I guess they all did (well not all!) And viewers mocked Sue Ellen about her quivering mouth, I found Mary Crosby's mouth really irritating!
But I don't like to be catty!

Her inflatable candy cane doesn’t stay upright
Oh that story is hilarious, I was in absolute hysterics reading and picturing that. I could literally see that massive candy cane and imagined you fighting through it trying to hold down that as well as a polite conversation.

You must get it all the time, a never-ending battle with animals, people, access problems and now giant candy cane inflatables.

You should be writing a book about your tales of being a delivery driver!

Definitely need another installment of your other happenings next time you catch up here please.

Hope you're keeping well DFF and I suppose I should say hope you're safe too now! Take care for now, it'll soon be the weekend.

Same to everyone else here too, hope you're all well, Happy Thursday!

I can understand that. She was probably more of a Dynasty character living in Dallas than she was a character from Dallas. She was camp, and that wasn’t really Dallas. Fortunately for her DFF loves camp LOL

It’s weird with me because I notice there are characters I perhaps didn’t appreciate on these shows back then but do now, and the opposite can also be true for me sometimes.

Most viewers did. I think I felt more sorry for the original Kristin. She was an attractive girl in a different way. Did they get rid of her because of looks, acting ability or another reason? That's show biz I guess.
I liked original Kristin actually. I guess she wasn’t in the role long enough for me to form an opinion on her though. I’m not sure why they got rid of her to be honest but I doubt it was her looks. I found her very attractive.

I felt Mary Crosby overdid it a great deal, but I guess they all did (well not all!) And viewers mocked Sue Ellen about her quivering mouth, I found Mary Crosby's mouth really irritating!
This made me laugh! Personally I never noticed “the Sue Ellen quiver” until I joined this site. And, well, I still don’t when I watch. I mean, it’s there but it doesn’t really distract me from the scene.

As for Mary, yes, she also played the role quite campy at times but that stuff never bothered me. I liked the over the top acting. It kind of defined that era of soaps for me.

Oh that story is hilarious, I was in absolute hysterics reading and picturing that. I could literally see that massive candy cane and imagined you fighting through it trying to hold down that as well as a polite conversation.
She was very lucky I like her. I did want to pick up that thing and throw it over the roof of the house and into the backyard but once I saw her standing there and smiling at me while she tried to avoid cracking up I realized how funny it must’ve looked.

You must get it all the time, a never-ending battle with animals, people, access problems and now giant candy cane inflatables.

I have seen it all. I’ve had a dog jump in my van and use it for a restroom, I’ve been rear ended at a traffic light while minding my own business, I’ve set off home security systems, I’ve been stuck in an elevator twice, I’ve been locked out of buildings, I’ve been locked inside properties and had to climb a fence to get out, I’ve broken bones and torn ligaments, I’ve slipped and fallen on camera, I’ve accidentally killed the wildlife by driving over them, I’ve been hit on (not complaining), I’ve gotten tangled in holiday decorations, I’ve been yelled at for speeding, chased by a donkey, wild boars, bulls, cows, and horses, and my personal favorite would be leaving a box of medication at a house that the family dog absolutely destroyed by the time his owner got home.

I guess you’re right. I could write a book!

Definitely need another installment of your other happenings next time you catch up here please.
Oh, don’t worry! I have a lot more great stories to share.

Hope you're keeping well DFF and I suppose I should say hope you're safe too now! Take care for now, it'll soon be the weekend.

You are the two backbones of this thread in my opinion and without the two of you we wouldn’t even be as far as we are. We’re up to 5457 and my hunch is that about 5000 of those belong to you and ‘Lashes.

It may take us a lot longer to hit our goal than we eventually thought but with the two of you here and leading the way as you have from the very beginning we will make it someday.

I'm noticing this more and more and not just posties. It's usually men and they're wearing shorts, no matter what the weather. Just looking at them gives me Frost bite.
You know, this got me thinking and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve spent the last 25 years with the same company and I’ve never once wore pants to work. I will have to try that once before I retire though. Nonetheless, it’s a record to be proud of perhaps.

The freedom of wearing shorts must be great although with your job could be a hazard like the posties!

At least you have the weather for shorts. Men here don't seem to mind any weather conditions. It's as if anything goes, shorts all the way.

Fortunately for her DFF loves camp LOL
That's great! I obviously haven't got the intelligence to appreciate camp in a drama. Anywhere else is fine.

I have seen it all
You make your job sound so interesting and fun ( I bet it isn't all fun though) Would love to hear your elevator story, getting hit on and being locked inside properties and your broken bones, infact I would love to hear all of it!

My job sounds so boring in comparison and trust me I hate using the word boring.
Jobs I've had in the past have been a bit more interesting especially when I used to care for the elderly. So many characters, so many stories they had to tell. God they were fascinating. I would sit ages with them listening to their tales.

I was also a mimic back then and had so much fun copying certain ones. I never ever intended it to be rude, I just love voices, accents and phrases (some I still use today) My behaviour would be frowned upon now and I'd be called all sorts, but I know I wasn't rude. I just appreciated them and enjoyed bringing humour to a very hard, stressful, thankless job.

You say you've done the same job for 25 years which really is an achievement. Have you ever wanted to do something else? Would you have the confidence to?
Sorry if that's too nosey of me.

I've mentioned my son before, he's 15 and unsure what he wants to do when he finishes school. He has his struggles like his stammer and dyspraxia. I know they shouldn't hold him back but they do. He hasn't even got the confidence to catch a bus or go into a shop on his own for fear he'll have to speak.
We've sorted a course for him next year to help with his speech which he's excited and enthusiastic for. It's in London and I'm pleased we're used to travelling there.

Well I've gone on long enough again. It's great seeing you over on the Dallas threads.

Take care for now DFF and stay safe!

Most people I know haven’t ever even seen me in pants. I guess I only wear them for special occasions. As far as work goes, I can’t picture wearing anything but shorts here. I’m still amazed though that people work outside in them in your climate. Even I probably wouldn’t do that.

That's great! I obviously haven't got the intelligence to appreciate camp in a drama. Anywhere else is fine
I don’t mind it just as long as it’s not overdone, which I know is the definition of camp anyway but you know what I mean. I don’t mind my dramas a little over the top but there’s a fine line between that and being a complete joke and I don’t like crossing over that line.

Oh no, it’s not always fun, believe me!

Let’s see, being locked in an elevator? Well, it was a thunderstorm and I was in this three story building. The power happened to go out as I’m on the elevator (of course), so I’m standing there all alone trapped up on the third floor. Luckily it was a glass elevator and I could see out, which made it a lot easier. In the lobby I could see three women standing there and they were all looking up at me and telling me it was going to be okay and they were going to get me out. That was the nicest part, having people concerned about me as I’m waiting there. To tell you the truth, it was also a little embarrassing because the glass made everything visible to everyone and I felt like such an idiot just standing there with everyone watching me and nothing to do. Sadly I had left my phone back in my vehicle also. Anyway, after a few minutes the thing just started up again and I was able to get out.

The second time was a little more scary. I was in an apartment building and it was a very tiny elevator with no glass. The thing just stopped and I’m ashamed to say I panicked. The elevator phone was working so I called for help. They called the fire department but I called back again ‘cause it was a very tiny elevator and I felt really enclosed. The girl on the other end informed me they were on the way. It was scary. But like last time, all of a sudden it started up again and I got out before they arrived. Fresh air never felt so good.

Getting hit on? You really want to hear about that? LOL. Okay, part of the job I guess. I will use one example of this house I go to.We’ve always hit it off. In fact, we hit it off instantly which is hard for DFF cause I’m notoriously shy at first. I mean I noticed very early on when I went there that she was hugging me and kissing me on the cheek, which I’m not complaining about of course. I just figured she was either very forward or whatever was in these packages must’ve meant a whole lot to her. Anyway, her house was getting totally redone at the time so she would ask me in to give me the grand tour. She’d give me sodas and offer me food. We’d chat for a few minutes but of course with that job I have to keep moving so I’d respectfully tell her I had to go. To make a long DFF story short, one day last year we’re talking outside her house and she proceeds to make my day. She starts saying the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. She’s telling me she thinks I’m the nicest person, she’s going on and on about my personality and manners, and she’s even telling me I’m gorgeous. I suggested an eye doctor for the last part but she said her eyes are just fine and likes what she sees. She even told me I smell good and when she asked me what I’m wearing I told her it’s my own special fragrance called “Perspiration.” I think what really helped my cause though was the fact that she wanted a dog and her son and husband were telling her she couldn’t have one. That didn’t make sense to me because her son didn’t even live at home anymore so I told her to get a dog if she wants one and her husband and son would pick up the pieces one day and move on with their lives. (I’m proud to say she listened to me and now has a puppy). Regardless, as you noticed there is a husband and DFF has the unfortunate flaw of being a gentleman so her and I have remained good friends and strictly professional, but I have to say it is nice to go to a house and be the center of someone’s affection for a few minutes. I am the center of her universe when I show up (LOL) and til this day everything including the dog, the husband and children get cast aside while I’m there. It’s a nice feeling.

Broken bones? Let’s see, I’ve broken bones in both wrists but continued working through the pain like an imbecile. I broke one when slamming a sliding metal door shut too hard on my truck, and I broke the other one on a different door on another truck. I know it sounds crazy but those doors are very unforgiving and picture opening and closing them 100 times a day. It takes a toll. I had to learn a special way of doing that to put less stress on my wrists. Those were the two most serious injuries I’ve had. I’ve also sprained both ankles, hurt my shoulder, sprained my back twice, but luckily never anything that made me miss work. And right now I’m dealing with a hyperextended right elbow.

Getting locked inside properties? It’s happened more than once. One time I went to this house and they had a gate leading into a courtyard. The gate was open so I walked in, but somehow the gate ended up closing behind me and it was electronic. I couldn’t get out. No one was home. Luckily for me someone pulled up and I was able to leave. She was laughing and it was kind of funny.

Another time I went to this house and they had a gate, but it was too narrow a driveway to get the truck up there so I decided to park outside the gate and walk. I rang the call box and they let me in. I walked up to the house and made the delivery and as I’m walking back to the truck I notice the gates are locked. I’m locked in and the call box is outside the gate so I did the next best thing. Furthermore no one was home as they had let me in from their phone I’m assuming. I had to climb over the fence to get out. Somewhere there’s probably a video of it.

My job sounds so boring in comparison and trust me I hate using the word boring.
Jobs I've had in the past have been a bit more interesting especially when I used to care for the elderly. So many characters, so many stories they had to tell. God they were fascinating. I would sit ages with them listening to their tales.
Sometimes I would rather have a boring job to be honest. I would bet your stories of caring for the elderly aren’t boring though! I’m sure there are some fascinating tales to tell there. Was it a job you enjoyed doing? I’m sure it had its drawbacks as well.

I was also a mimic back then and had so much fun copying certain ones. I feel we have to laugh, especially at ourselves. There’s nothing wrong with mimicking someone as long as it’s done in good taste. Yes, things are different now than when we were growing up but we need laughter now more than ever in my opinion.

Sorry if that's too nosey of me
Not nosey at all. Without nosiness we’d have no thread.

My current career path certainly wasn’t my goal. I don’t regret the last 25 years but what I really wanted was to play professional baseball. Shocker, huh? It was my dream growing up. Nothing else mattered to me. That front lawn in the foreground of my avatar was once a baseball field built by yours truly. It was my safe haven. I’d stay out there for hours and hours practicing by myself while Mom watched from the house with her arms folded shaking her head. She didn’t get it at first. Sports was such a long shot to her, but somewhere along the line she started getting on board. Somehow it became her dream also, and perhaps even more than it was mine. She’d sit in the stands and watch me play and she’d start crying. She’d drive me nuts but I do get it now. Unfortunately I got sidetracked and I stopped playing, and I’m the first to admit that I just wasn’t good enough. You have no idea how good those athletes are until you’re playing against them. I started playing again a couple of summers ago. At first it felt great, but it became clear to me right away that I’m not the same player anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I can still put on a show on the field for the youngsters to marvel at, but it’s not nearly the same anymore. I notice it, and two members of my family pointed it out to me as well. I’d be lying if I said that didn’t sting a little, but the last thing I want to do is go out there and have people say I’m a shell of what they saw 30 years ago. So I hung up my baseball glove for good. Maybe not all dreams are meant to be.

I've mentioned my son before, he's 15 and unsure what he wants to do when he finishes school. He has his struggles like his stammer and dyspraxia. I know they shouldn't hold him back but they do. It sounds like your son definitely has his struggles and I’m sorry to hear that. I can certainly see how having this would hurt his confidence. I mean, how can it not? But hopefully he understands that millions of people have the same thing and it’s perfectly normal.

I think enrolling him in the course is a great idea. Things are quite different now with this kind of stuff. We’re all much more aware now about these things and that’s a very good thing. The fact that he’s looking forward to it is also a very good sign. It means he wants to change his situation for the better, which is great because unfortunately quite often the opposite becomes true and people get down about their predicament. I’m sure having you in his corner helps.

Well I've gone on long enough again.
Oh, I’m not so sure about that. Just look at the length of these last two posts I’ve done. I’m way worse.

It's great seeing you over on the Dallas threads.
Thank you! We’re not running out of things to talk about over there, which is what I always feared. I love reading your posts over there because it’s obvious you’re so very passionate about the show. Quite often you remind me of little things, scenes and dialogue I’ve honestly forgotten. You make me rethink things and look at them from a different perspective, and I think that’s the whole point of these threads.

Take care for now DFF and stay safe!
Here's hoping you're keeping well.

I'm in Gloucestershire, not sure if you thought I was in Hampshire?
I had no preconceptions as to your location other than you are in the UK. In England as I didn't see any Welsh of Scottish words/idioms et cetera. There came a point when I stopped skating around the fact I'm in B'stoke in Hampshire. I'm just a humble sinner living in an affluent Tory voting town ghetto full of Range Rovers. Oh yeah.. if drinking in dumps is your thing, come on down. Plenty of posh bars, but the dumps where the place to be. But I digress... My curiosity will be the end of me one day, I was just wondering were you gyrate.

A good chum of mine lives down your way, in Brockworth. He's a fine gentleman to hit up the fizzy pop with, and will pat you on your back when the pop makes a surprise reappearance saying "there there, everything will be alright, I'm sure the shopkeeper will enjoy cleaning that all up in the morning"... Halcyon times my friend.

Umm... I'm now a reformed gentleman walking the path of righteousness.

(One lost one's way somewhere in that ^ amorphous and meandering ramblings of a madman, but in my defense I started posting the "gold" about 21;30pm. It's now 22;46pm, I'm on the laptop bouncing around iTunes late night candlelight and quite frankly... I've got some super excellent tastes and "a sense for" to quote DFF... but of course I'm not one to self-congratulate or boast. But currently bumping Mutiny UK's The Virus (King Unique Snake Charmer remix) All together now .. "infectious stuff can't get enough, can't get enough".

Run out of things to talk about? Lol!

I've been on here for a long time and I'm only just getting warned up :lmao:
I was just reviewing last nights offerings and... yikes! Seems that I had a lot to say, while bouncing around on this laptop. You'd be surprised how long it takes to magic up my posts, hence often losing my train of thought and straying off into God only knows. Late night candlelight is a blessing and curse and the humble sinner rolls with it.

I see you've been here since 2016, can I ask how you found this platform and why you've stayed active for 7 years? I stumbled across TT when Emmerdale had a storyline that was not the usual teatime fodder (Laurel and Jai were planning to abort the pregnancy because the child had Downs Syndrome) and I was curious what other Emmerdale fans thought about it. After circling back a number of times I thought why not join... what's the worst that could happen, I'll be ignored or kicked off the platform for saying something super dumb... but yeah, so far only one warning and one member cutting and pasting the definition of "gibberish" in response to what ever magic I offered up. Not bad right?

FYI... I'm enjoying a do nothing but indulge yourself weekend. Using this laptop instead of my phone means hyperbole is my burden but my iTunes account lightens the load (actually that's gibberish right there). Currently bumping Kate Bush's live recording of Cloudbusting from her Before The Dawn concerts. Mentioned last night, but this recording is... word don't exist to full describe it. The strings are murderous and relentless... Kate's vocal has no mortal equal. Just amazing.

In 2018 BBC radio 2 had a day dedicated to the workings of an orchestra. Very interesting, as they explained the role of the conductor, the woodwind section, the percussion section, the brass section and the string section section, The host then said "now we have a great example of strings being used" I looked at my van radio and said Cloudbusting. I was right.

I'll spare you the rest!

Long Lashes

I do it here year round, of course, but i never thought anyone would do that in the snow. I have to admire his toughness! Isn’t he cold though? I would think he’d have to be in the winter months.
Well DFF (clever new Christmas name, by the way :cool1) ... our Postman doesn't have blue legs for no reason., especailly in the icy rain.

The sound of rain helps me sleep and it does cool things down a little also.
I like the sound of the rain as well, makes me feel all cosy when I'm inside warm and dry.

The season officially ends December 15, so that’s good! We were very lucky in my part of the state again this year.
Yaay! so this means you're safe for now. Dare I ask , when does the hurricane season officiaally start again?

In Upstate NY we’d get literally buried some years. I didn’t mind it when it was happening but when it lingered around for awhile it would get a little depressing.
I've often seen reports of how deep the snow is in NY and how frozen it is .. it's far worse than anything we get.

You’re welcome! And you don’t need the ‘great’ in front of your name to be great ‘Lashes. You’re already that in my book.
You're far too kind :hugs:

Yes, that is the positive thing about it. Babies are pretty cool. We haven’t had one in my family in quite awhile now and it would be nice having one around again soon.

As long as I’m not the one having them, of course.
smiley-lol.webp

There’s nothing wrong with laughter. We all need it daily and animals can do a nice job of providing that.
So true my friend, sometimes having a good laugh can feel like a relief to all lifes daily stresses. Don't you find that coming across someone who has the same sense of humour draws you to them? I do.

They’re also good at barking or hissing at me all day when I’m just minding my own business.
Ooo yes, I forget how much you are in danger when doing your job :yikey: I hope all has been quiet recently for you.

I’m glad you enjoyed reading it! That’s always a tough morning for me so I needed to put some thoughts down and I just ended up posting it. Overall though it was a very nice day. The family, the food, the American Football games, and of course having the day off, all in all it was a nice holiday.
I'm glad you had a good day, its lovely to keep those traditions.

And knowing that day can be tough for you ... makes your heartfelt post in the Thanksgiving Thread all the more special :)

I so hope work had not been to mad . .but I'm guessing you've been busy with it being Christmas? Hopefully you'll get a few days off over the Christmas holidays DFF. :13:
