About twenty years ago my mother was in our small, local supermarket and this happened. It was about a week after Thanksgiving, so there were all these leftover, frozen turkeys piled in the bottom of the upright freezer cases. She opened one of the glass doors to get something out and a frozen turkey fell out and broke her big toe. From the way my mom tells the story, she was hopping around saying words no well-mannered Southern woman normally uses in public, and the manager/co-owner came running to her aid. "What can I do? Do you need me to call an ambulance?" he was firing questions at her in a panic, so she told him to shut up! She needed to sit down, so he got a rolling desk chair out of the office and sat her down. She said he was in a panic and she was in pain, but the way he was acting irritated her---he was likely afraid she was going to sue. But this was a small town, and self-respect wins out over greed every time. She had known the manager since he was a child and this was the only grocery store within a half-hour's drive. If she had sued him, she said she would never be able to show her face in that grocery store again, and she wasn't about to drive 30 minutes every time she needed a loaf of bread. So she had him pay her medical bills and they called it even. When I open the freezer and something falls on my foot. And sure enough there’s always someone that has to say “Did it hurt?” It was a frozen item, do you think it hurt?
I can certainly see whyWe've never had turkey for Thanksgiving again, either.

I prefer my cheese sauce runny. Same with custard. If it's too thick it makes me gag.the cheese sauce was nowhere near thick enough.
That's sounds like a scene from They're Playing Our Song. When you have spent days rehearsing something to tell the love of your life and just as you're about to do it, his phone rings.
When the supermarket reorganises their layout for no obvious reason.
I know where everything is and I have my route planned out - only to find they've moved things around and I have to go on safari to find them again.
The world would be a much better place if more people would simply recognize that not all movies, TV, music, etc. is geared to them, or made to appeal to them. Rather than declare "Oh, that was terrible," they could simply recognize "That wasn't made for me." I recognize that things are being produced to appeal to a different demographic, a different culture, or different age group, and to make quality judgments on such things is wrong since....I'm not the target audience. It's very self-centered for someone to decide that just because *I* don't like something, then no one else would like it, either and such things should never be made.when DVD reviews of certain series seem to be written such that a certain show or season(s) of that show are deemed stupid, asinine, or any of those words thereto, full stop. I mean, think about it-- some people don't care all that much, for instance, for the last two gos on Miami Vice (1987-89), and they're welcome to be of that opinion if they didn't care for them, but the way the DVD reviews/other reviews are written, they seem to think that no one should be able to enjoy them, or even try to!
It’s so sad that some people are like this. I notice it a lot with music. I don’t judge anyone by what they listen to even if it’s something I don’t care for but I notice I’ll catch a lot of flack for what I enjoy from those very same people. Very immature. It's very self-centered for someone to decide that just because *I* don't like something, then no one else would like it, either and such things should never be made.
Can’t we just slow down a little? It seems like we go right from Halloween to Christmas. And over here we celebrate Thanksgiving, which is in 18 days and you really don’t hear much about it, which I think is sad. It’s my favorite holiday. When adverts on tv say 'it's Christmas people', on 7th November. It isn't Christmas. It's November.
