The 1966 Batman film was based on the TV series not the comic book. The film had most of the same actors, the same sets, the same writers and the same camp tongue in cheek style which was very different from the comic books. You should watch it's very good.

I guess you haven't seen it. I think anyone that has seen Batman: The Movie, wouldn't think it wasn't based on the 1960s TV series. Equally, the film Batman: The Dark Knight couldn't be mistaken for being based on the 1960s TV series.

Yes the second movie was called "The Courage of Lassie" and it was portrayed by Pal, the same dog as in the original Lassie movie.

I think he was called Bill since it was a different story about a dog similar to Lassie but not really Lassie. However the original Lassie movie was a success and I guess somewhere between the filming and the releasing of the movie they figured they would make more money if they gave it a title with Lassie in it to tie it to a franchise. But they did have an other original title for "The Courage of Lassie" when they filmed it.

Also Elizabeth plays another girl in the second Lassie movie than she did in the first.
