When a show is willing to let an actress like Kiara Barnes (a newcomer) out of her contract for a role on another program, it could say B&B saw that this role would be a great opportunity for her, that they are supportive enough (or thought enough of her as a person) not to lock her into that contract and force her to pass on the role. Maybe they knew (from their plot projections for the next two or three cycles) that her character was not central to any one plotline, and letting her leave would not cause chaos of the writers. As for the lousy exit, I can only guess that she had to leave in a hurry to start pre-production for Fantasy Island and thus did not get a proper send-off. Another option might be that they sense this FI reboot won't last, and by leaving her character's stories unresolved, they can bring her back when/if that show gets cancelled and have built-in reasons for her to step back into the show's stories.

Her contract was up and she decided to not renew it. The news of that broke several months ago, so the writers absolutely had time to wrap up her story in a better way. The fact that they didn't means that they didn't really care enough about Zoe.

Oh, I assumed she had not been there long enough for her contract (typically three years) to expire. My mistake. Whatever the case, I've seen others complaining about the abruptness of her departure, so you're not the only one crying foul on this one.

I don’t know, I really don’t see the problem with her sudden departure. It wasn’t a character I was ever vested in to be honest. I don’t see it as being a big loss for the show but that’s just me. Is she really a character that warrants a big exit?

She came on back in 2018, so it's been 3 years. Came on and was in a love triangle with Emma & Xander.

Well, after 3 years, she deserved at least a scene with fiancé Carter where she confronted him about his fling with Quinn. One little scene, how difficult could it have been to write that in???

Yeah, I can see ur point on this. There should’ve been at least some kind of closure scene with Carter. Odd that they didn’t do this.

It's BB. They tend to forget their own history let alone write something of value for a character no one really cares about.

You forget that Zoe wasn't part of a story with Hope, Liam or Brooke. Had she been, she'd gotten more of a goodbye, I'm sure. All stories are rushed except those featuring Bell's golden geese - those instead take forever and a day.

I gotta say I’m really enjoying this show so far this week. The scenes with Bill and Justin today were very emotional. Their confrontation was far better than I expected. And Liam and Hope finally reuniting was great to see. They really make a wonderful couple. Eric putting aside personal feelings to give Carter another chance was a nice gesture. Of course it came with a condition and I have a feeling that condition is going to be a problem for Carter at some point.

IMO, Liam & Hope is a seriously boring couple. But with this reunion and this storyline ending, I hope they will be in the background at least for the rest of the year. Focus on other characters for some time.

Eric, Ridge & Brooke are so full of themselves. I fully understand why Eric wants to divorce Quinn after her cheating. But must they judge Quinn & Carter as if they've never cheated or lied themselves? Can someone please hold up a mirror for them. If you've slept with your own daughter's husband and had his baby, and taken your sister's man, then you have no room what so ever to speak. I love a good rivalry, but don't be the world's biggest hypocrit! The writers are making us root for Quinn & Carter and hating the self-righeous Forresters/Logans. Is that a good thing? Ruining the core characters...

The scene the other day with Brooke lecturing Quinn was laughable. I’m a huge Brooke fan but her being the voice of reason when it comes to keeping ur marriage vows sacred is hilarious!

Ellen von Unwerth is one of my favorite guest judges on Germany's Next Topmodel, but she is better being herself than playing herself. She obviously had trouble remembering a few lines.

Thorsten Kaye speaking German was a nice surprise, but I had to listen to it again to understand his last part of the sentence. I've read he's going to take some time off B&B next year to visit Germany and meeting some family members.

Steffy is finally curious about Finn's parents. Perhaps her general lack of interest in the past is the reason she never asked if her mother's maiden name is really Hayes.

I've wanted Ted King back on daytime for years, but joining B&B is always risky. He could be just a waste of talent, but I'm still looking forward to see him.

Can Brooke possibly get more annoying? Right after calling out Quinn for everything Brooke has done herself yet proclaiming that she's better than Quinn, she's eyeing Steffy's job at FC.

She set up the whole photoshoot to show Ridge that they should be co-CEOs. It was so obvious. She almost held her breath in anticipation as she and Ridge first saw the article. She knew exactly what the text would say. Then that smug smile like she was really proud of herself. She's such a manipulative snake. Can't she just die already????

I hope that Finn's parents are on contract. B&B needs some more characters. Especially characters that aren't Logans or Spencers!

Who are Finn's biological parents?

Some say Sheila is his mother, because Kimberlin Brown "visited" B&B set recently. So is James his father? I'm not that keen to this idea, but there could happen some nice stuff if Sheila wants to protect his son when Liam might (someday he will) waffle again. But since B&B would never kill Liam all of this drama would be just waste of time.

Others say it's another son Bill knew nothing about. I hope they don't go there.

I’m okay with him being Sheila’s son if it means we’re going to get one last run out of the character. But I have a sneaky suspicion he will turn out to be Quinn’s. Of course right now she might be too preoccupied with Carter to care.

I think either Quinn or Sheila. There's got to be some major conflict when Finn will want to form a bond with his biological parent/s. And Steffy not wanting that particular grandparent anywhere near her son.

I think that since Quinn is already on the show and is currently completely out in the cold, it would make perfect sense to have her be the mother.

After today, I am 100% sure that Finn's biological mother is Sheila. When Steffy put the wedding announcement online and a mystery woman saw it and zoomed in on Finn, it was too obvious.

I think ur correct. I think the mystery woman is a dead giveaway. As soon as I saw that the first person I thought of was Sheila.

On B&B, that's always the first person you think of when they bring back a "mysterious person". Who else is there? It's quite predictable.

I was hoping they'd have Quinn as Finn's biological mother instead. A mini-Sheila who Steffy also has major problems with but that would also make Finn & Wyatt brothers.

Well, at least with Sheila as Hayes grandmother, they won't ever have to worry about Sheila harming him , not physically at least. Steffy may have to watch her back if she ever betrays Finn, but at least her son is safe.
