It's yer woman's tweet about the strawberry that cracks me up.

I know. So much indignation.

Except Ellen didn't ask Michael what kind of ice cream he wanted. She said something like "how about ice cream?" And he replied coffee. It's a bit like if someone asked me "how about a sandwich?" and I replied "Snickers". Would I want a Snickers instead of a sandwich? Or would I be asking for a Snickers sandwich?

These are the kinds of question that keep Jaws fans awake at night.

I have to admit being one of only a few, if not the only person I know who wouldn't thank you for ice cream, although from what I remember about coffee ice cream, it's one I could tolerate. I've just never understood the appeal of eating ice cold things. Same with ice coffee. Coffee is meant to be warm.

That makes sense. At least your dislike is based on logic.

What the hell does this have to do with Jaws?

Oh, it has everything to do with Jaws. We're digging deep into Michael Brody's psyche here.

I did correct someone on the Tweet who did say she asked what flavour he wanted. I said 'oh she so did NOT ask what flavour he wanted!!!'

Cue Jaws 5 - The Revenge of Starbucks as we find out Michael actually DID want coffee.

does anyone count Cruel Jaws (1995) as Jaws 5 ? lol
I’ve never seen it but would like to just for entertainment purposes. All I know about it is it was released right to video, was filmed not far from where I currently live, and despite the title it isn’t recognized as part of the franchise, even though some markets promoted it as Jaws 5. Nonetheless, I would like to get around to watching it eventually.

and if you really want to have fun with someone who's never heard of it tell them That Jaws 5 is made by the same guy who made Termination 2 aka Shocking Dark (1988) i think it was? when in reality it's an Aliens Clone until like the ending when it turns into Terminator lol. i haven't seen either film but what's funny about Shocking Jaws they were only limited to certain things and to save money they had the deaths of the humans have it be their fault and if they didn't they just used stock footage from various Shark movies weather it's the Jaws films or that one from (1981) that i forget the title of that got sued for using Jaws 2 i think? footage . hence why it was never released in the states it was going to oddly enough but they i think realized that with the stock footage in it they would get sued so they canceled it! though i doubt they would have called it Cruel Jaws that's i think an alternate title i can't remember either way it's some funny shit at least to me it is

There’s a new movie out called Great White. I can’t even stomach it. Should any of us? What is the point in this?

I might give it a go. The Aussies can do this sort of thing well, as in The Reef and Black Water.

(It does look a bit naff, though).

I'm feeling terribly guilty that it's August and I STILL haven't had my 2021 screening of Jaws. I might not even bother this year. Perhaps I'll go straight to the sequels when my steelbooks arrive. But the thought of skipping a year of Jaws makes me feel even more guilty.

As a rule I watch it once a summer. For some reason I haven’t gotten around to it yet this year. I’m sure I’ll probably get around to it at some point though.

It's exactly the same for me. I usually watch it at the end of June or beginning of July, when the film is set. How interesting that we've both not watched yet this year.

Same here. Usually I’ll watch it July 4th weekend or close to it. I guess with everything going on in the world at the moment I’ve been watching more comedy instead.

I'm excited to report that my Jaws 2 and Jaws The Revenge steelbooks are en route and due to be with me between Friday and Monday.

I'm not sure what's holding up my Jaws 3 steelbook - which was ordered a week before JTR - but I've sent out a search party to find it:

I hadn’t heard of it til you mentioned it so I just watched the preview. Can’t say it did anything for me really.
I watched " Great White" it was ok not anything like Jaws but it was ok. Some scenes were far fetched for sure.

Jaws 1-2
Then and now - cast

How Jaws should have ended

it's simply unbelievable how old this movie now is i mean the Original film 46 years old it just doesn't feel like does it? i wasn't around in '75 when it came out but i did grow up on these films. though it's it's honestly not among my favorite of Spielberg's work now don't get me wrong it's a great film but there are others of his i'm a bigger fan of such as i loved Ready Player One (2018) i'm a gamer and that film felt like it was made for me. than there's the Indy films that i love that he did for example the list goes on is just what i'm trying to say

I view the "ugly sister" shark on the Jaws 2 cover quite fondly - mostly because it appeared on the front of the novel (which I read far too much as a kid, and still read occasionally).

iu

It's appropriate that the shark art looks like a poor imitation of the original Jaws shark, because the entire film is a poor imitation of the original.

All the same, it does spoil the uniformity that Jaws 2 is the only film of the four that doesn't use the "official" Roger Kastel shark image.

When it comes to sets like the steelbooks and the Intrada soundtracks a few years ago, I wish they'd use the original Jaws 2 album art to keep it looking consistent.

iu

^ This would look really nice on a blu-ray steelbook, don't you think?
