Dallas Couples Bobby & Pam - Appreciation thread

I was just watching Digger’s Daughter and I’m amazed at how this episode still holds up. It’s really a perfect pilot. I love the scenes with Bobby and Pam from the beginning of the episode as they drive to Southfork and discuss their future. It’s so well written and I have to say it’s still one of my favorite episodes of the entire series.

Happy Holidays @Mrs Bobby James Ewing!! And I agree with you when you say you miss chatting about Bobby and Pam.

I recently watched Swan Song, which I kind of think ur a big fan of. I never get tired of watching that episode. I remember watching Jenna and Bobby break up, which I will admit did make me sad, but I knew then that Bobby and Pam would finally be reuniting.

I always loved Pam’s reaction as she’s upstairs and her maid tells her that “Mr Ewing’s here.” You pretty much know at that point what’s coming.

Happy New Year Everyone!:ny9:
Let's hope 2022 will be a better year and that the pandemic will end soon.

Also I was watching another Patrick Duffy Christmas movie today. It was called "Mistletoe secret" I think it was from 2019.

In it he co-starred with Kellie Pickler who talked a little about working with Patrick in this article:

Since I just watched "Christmas at Graceland" with Kellie Pickler last night I must say that Patrick mentoring her showed since I think her acting had improved in "The mistletoe secret".

So has anyone else watched any Christmas movies with Patrick this holiday season?

Thanks for sharing @Sarah
You are right the interview is funny. I don't think I've seen it before.
The queen was short? :rlol:

That's interesting what he had to say about Victoria and Larry.

Just too bad that the final reunion movie never happened.

I recently watched the episode The Eye of the Beholder. :) I love the scenes where Bobby and Pam bump into each other at the Oil Baron’s Club. :) They ended up having lunch together and reminiscing about their wedding and honeymoon.:) I felt sorry for Pam at the end of those scenes when she found out that Bobby&Jenna have taken their relationship to the next level.:(

:) I watched the episode Barbecue earlier. :)Bobby&Pam were so cute in that episode but I hate that they end up losing their baby. :):(
Barbecue is such an emotional rollercoaster for Bobby and Pam when you think about it. It starts with such hope and happiness and it ends so tragically. I think it’s one of the best written episodes of the entire series but it’s just so painfully sad to watch as it unfolds.

Oh yes I love the entire mini-series. Each stand alone episode establishes the characters so well and build character depth. :)

Bar-B-Que is definitely a sad episode for Bobby and Pam. It starts out so well and there's even hope that their father's will bury the hatches for the sake of their grandchild. The scene where Digger and Jock shake hands speaks volumes. Everything seems to be going Bobby and Pam's way then.

Then later on we have Lucy telling Ray that Pam is pregnant. It hurts him since she used to be his girl. Also I guess Ray has a longing for a family since his mother is dead and he is estranged from the man who he thinks is his dad. So all he's got is an aunt and a cousin he hasn't seen in years.

Of course things goes sour. Jock gets on Diggers nerves and he starts drinking again.
Sue Ellen also drinks and is jealous that Pam is having a baby and not her.

Then because Bobby takes care of his brother's drunk wife instead of looking for his own, Pam ends up falling off the hay loft. It was JR's fault of course. Even if he didn't push her. He sure as hell went up there to talk to her. He cornered her. If he hadn't done that, Pam wouldn't have fallen.

Then at the end we have Jock who begs Pam not to alienate Bobby from his family.

Yes the first BBQ episode is damn near perfect. Oh and it was written by David Jacobs too. That man is a genius when it comes to writing compelling drama series. Just look at Knots Landing. That show was awesome! :hat:
