Not "attractive," but attractive in the 1980s

" Attractive" is very subjective, of course. Out if the 1980s prime time soaps whom would you consider not a person you would normally find attractive, but they just had that certain something that put them in that category for you?

MAGNUM - he isn´t the kind of man I like (I would prefer Dynasty´s Luke or Clay all the way) but he had something ...
his body, his long legs, his smile ...

RIPTIDE - Perry King & Joe Penny are not the most handsome (not saying they are not handsome but they are not Rob Lowe) but both have something

I always thought the two leads on Riptide were modeled on the Duke boys (of Dukes of Hazzard), with brunette Joe Penny pegged as the smarter one, while blond Perry King was the cuter-but-coasting on-his-looks one. Not that I would have rejected either of them, BTW.

I think what made Magnum/Tom Selleck so sexy (other than the obvious good looks) was that self-deprecating sense of humor and willingness to admit he was not always on top of things. Seeing him blunder through situations on occasion kept him humble...and approachable.

I never found Clay or Rob Lowe particularly attractive (give me Chad any day --- although I think something's wrong with him).

Joe Penny is more attractive to me than any of them (although he admits he's too bitchy to live with).

The Dukes had a certain appeal.

I didn't care all that much for Luke on DYNASTY, but his hair was a major issue; he's grown on me though.

I rather liked Prince Michael Praed -- even though a lot of people don't.

Lorenzo and Billy on FC were attractive enough, though quite different.

Tom Selleck had that Sun in Aquarius/Capricorn Rising thing like Clark Gable. But it's not for me.

Are we discussing ladies, too?

I think KNOTS' Peter Hollister and PAPER DOLLS' Wesley Harper had that very pretty 80s look without being actually sexy.
Ray Krebbs could really only be attractive in 70s DALLAS, they should have recast him.

So pretty (for real!)

Why do you think they should have recast Ray because he was "70s?" I'm just curious. Ray had the "it " factor imho.
Other characters who had the "it" factor imho were: Pat and Frank Williams (KL)
Greg Sumner (KL)
Abby Ewing (KL) Yes, I know she was a gorgeous blonde, but she had something special that made her stand out from all the other gorgeous blondes on t.v. April on Dallas was a gorgeous blonde, but she just left me cold.
JR Ewing had that certain something that transcended his looks and vile actions
Mack Mackenzie (KL) He had "it."
Karen Mackenzie (KL) was not the traditional beauty, but I thought she was beautiful.
Ok, I mentioned men and women. What can I say? I'm a people person:)

Apollo was my favorite animal in soapland. So regal, and the camera loved him! He should have had his own spinoff with Julia the nun called Prey Meets Pray. Or better yet Pray for Prey. Apollo would definitely draw a flock of viewers!

If you continue to argue with me I will tell the whole forum about the Andrew Stevens pin-up posters on your bedroom wall.

I know things....
