Frustration over. The full PaleyFest Q&A has landed:

Seeing it in context, it's clear that the "girl power" element was in the editing. The full interview is very balanced and easy to watch and quite fun (Jaclyn on the original plan to have a blonde, brunette and redhead: "And they thought that was inclusive").

Police Woman and Get Christie Love get mentions. As does Satan's School For Girls. And I don't think I knew that Cheryl turned down The Burning Bed before it was offered to Farrah.
I finally watched this the other day. There were some interesting information that I hadn't known before. The best bright spot was Cheryl Ladd taking an vocal stance on her Christianity, which as a Christian, I like and appreciate. I hadn't any idea she had such a stance. It makes me like her even more.

Did not know that about Cheryl Ladd, but now I respect her even more.

It didn't help that two of the three Farrah episodes happened shortly after Tiffany joined the show.. and it became either a Jill/Kris duo episode or more of a Kelly/Kris/Jill focus.

Tiffany was an East Coast born and raised individual.. and having her vibe explored and developed as a contrast to the west coast Kris and Kelly would be interesting.. and explained why there was a disconnect with the three as a trio.
The characterof Tiffany had potential. The east coast ice queen contrasting with the West Coast duo (even though J Smith is a Texan) could have
led to a fresh approach, but either the writers couldn't wouldn't develop it, or Shelly Hack just didn't work out, or both.
The show still had some potential at that point, but audiences just lost interest after season 4

Had CHARLIE'S ANGELS actually dived into some meaningful character development, this would've been a nice way to explore the contrast between the three angels during the fourth season. It might've been nice if they had made Kelly more Southern since Jaclyn Smith is from Texas. That would've been three varying views and ways to handle things, different morals perhaps, etc.

But, yeah, it's CHARLIE'S ANGELS.

It seemed like the the trio (seasons 1-3) were written as as having one combined personality, rather than having three distinct personalities.
Yes, there were some differences, but they were mostly blended into each other.
When Shelly Hack was cast in season 4 as the east cost, more refined one, it didn't work because the writers didn't develop
the contrasts, which could have given the series some interesting dynamics.
Interesting that at the beginning, Kelly was supposedly meant to be more street smart, but it was not Jaclyn Smith's
strength. Kelly was written as more refined which made Tiffany redundant. Maybe a more street wise character was the way to proceed,
and Julie was that to an extent in season 5, but the show had run its course by then. Whatever was planned it just did not work

I did like Tiffany and Shelley. She gave me Lauren Bacall vibes that made the trio even classier to me. I have never watched the Tanya season, though I guess I´ll get to it at some point in the future when my rewatch gets a little faster... The Spanish voice for Tanya was truly awful and childish. However, the first 4 seasons had an extraordinary dubbing work though John Forsythe´s voice was replaced by another actor(s) on "Dynasty".
