Dallas Couples Bobby & Pam - Appreciation thread

I recently watched the episode Ewing Inferno. :) I love the scene where Pam slaps JR in Bobby’s office. :)He deserved it for the comments he made about Pam being in France with Mark. ;) The scene where Pam tells Bobby that she wants a divorce is very painful to watch because you tell that they still love each other very much even though they are separated. :(

I recently watched Ewing Inferno as well. I love when Pam slaps J.R. too. Their one on one scenes were always memorable.

The scene where Pam tells Bobby she wants a divorce still bothers me til this day. I will admit that it is a great scene and well acted but it’s still very sad to see them both hurting like that. It was so ironic that here she was giving him what she thought he really wanted, but the drill bit no longer meant to him what it once did cause the contest didn’t matter anymore. What he really wanted was her and Christopher and they weren’t coming back.

I’ve always said the proposal in Swan Song was my favorite scene of theirs @pd fan but every time I watch the scene you mentioned I gotta say I love it more and more. At the time I was afraid to enjoy that scene too much cause I thought the writers were just teasing us and they wouldn’t put them back together so I enjoy watching it much more now.

Bobby & Pam are iconic. The Romeo & Juliet of the 80's. I was so fascinated by them when I was a young kid.
I had a crush on Bobby, and I thought Pam was beautiful. The chemistry between them was so strong. Even if the episode was very, very sad (with Bobby passing) I'd say that Swan Song is my absolute favorite Dallas episode. The writing, the acting... Everything is so perfect for Bobby & Pam (well, aside from Bobby's death obviously). It was so rewarding for the fans...

And that’s what I love about Swan Song. It made the two years they were apart well worth the wait. Even Bobby’s “death,” as sad as it is, can’t take away the magic of their reunion. If anything it adds to it. It makes it mean even more knowing that the end is near. We know they belong together, they know they belong together, yet tragedy always haunts them. Such a sad but great story at the same time.

@Mrs Bobby James Ewing I agree with you. It is such a bittersweet reunion. They’re finally back together but then it’s all over in the blink of an eye. I remember watching the next season and thinking how can Pam still live in that house? How can she walk outside everyday and look at that driveway?
I wondered that too. I know I couldn't. I suppose she decided that moving Christopher to a new unfamiliar home would make his daddy's death even harder on him.

I watched the episode Barbecue four earlier tonight. :)I loved the scene where Pam and Christopher visit with Miss Ellie during the barbecue and Pam admits that she still loves Bobby even though they are divorced.:):( I felt bad for Pam when saw Bobby&Jenna dancing together but I did appreciate Bobby&Mark trying to be cordial for Pam's sake.:(:) I just wish that the writers would have let Bobby&Pam share at least one scene together with their son at the barbecue so we could see Patrick and Victoria's amazing chemistry. ;)

That particular barbecue was very well written but also very sad for Bobby and Pam fans. I love the scene with Pam and Miss Ellie in the Southfork living room when Pam admits she’s still in love with Bobby. The scene with Bobby and Mark is also well written as they agree they will probably never be friends but there’s no sense in being enemies either. That’s a realistic approach to that situation.

I was watching the episode The Ewing Connection recently and specifically the scene when Pam and Bobby talk about what their lives would’ve been like if they had moved away from Southfork. Now this is only hypothetical of course because I know if this really happened we’d have no show LOL, but let’s say they did live somewhere other than Southfork. Would things have been different for them as they hoped? Or would J.R. and Katherine and all those outside forces still find a way to break them up? Any thoughts?

Happy Easter! :)

I am reading this new interview with Patrick and he said something that I wanted to share here:

There are so many great moments but do you have a favorite?

Well, we all like to ride horses. Every actor wants to be a cowboy. Every actor who’s fit, wants to get in a barroom brawl. So all of those were icing on the cake but a real joy that I got was having these delicious soul searching scenes between those two characters of Pam (Victoria Principal, below) and Bobby. And there’s one of them was just before Bobby died when he asks Pam to marry him again. And those scenes, when you get something that healthy and nutritious to dive into, those were the scenes that I looked forward to once I read them in the script. I think those satisfied me the most.
