Bobby could be way too tolerant at times. She waits for HIS son at his school after he tells her to stay away and then he allows her to tells him off on HIS property about HIS son who she met just a few days ago.
I always figured they did this just to keep things balanced. Too many happy couples at once just wasn’t realistic and too many couples fighting at once was too depressing.Something I just picked up. Whenever JR and Sue Ellen was getting along, they made sure Bobby and Pam wasn’t. A prime example of this was the episode of Mitch and Lucy’s wedding. JR and Sue Ellen were getting along while Bobby and Pam were having problems. Then JR cheats with Afton and now he and Sue Ellen are at it again, while Bobby gives up Ewing Oil and he and Pam are happy again.
it’s “Greg” - rising young literature professor Greg Forrester, who held his “novel seminars” at the Sundowner Motel, much to the chagrin of his long-suffering wife and small child Stevie. It sounds a lot like Ray when he says it, though! In “A House Divided” episode (the episode where JR gets shot) Lucy called the teacher she’s messing around with, Ray. Was that his name or was that a mistake by Charlene Tilton?
I've never seen sth. like that again except at these timersports competitions. There are contests in wood choping that way.another random thought/question: what is Ray trying to accomplish in this photo?

Looking back on it, there was just no way Jock and J.R. were going to let Cliff share in Ewing Oil profits of anything. It was naive of Bobby to even think they would. I can understand Bobby’s position here, as he’s stuck in the middle between Pam and his family, but if you remember even he walked out of the office in disgust when Cliff brought the document to Ewing Oil. So I don’t see how he could’ve expected Jock to feel any differently than he did.Probably for the first time in his life, Jock sides with JR over him and almost immediately he decides to leave (over Cliff Barnes nevertheless). The next day, almost in tears, he chastises Jock over taking JR’s side over his.
Normally I’m on Bobby’s side because I think he’s a good man, but he was ridiculous in this scenario.
I'm not sure the writers gave it this level of thought, but the thing that makes most sense to me is that the real issue for Bobby was Jock going along with JR's clear lie that he didn't know about the impending Asian counterrevolution and therefore didn't screw over the Cartel (and cause Seth's suicide and the ruination of the entertainingly slimy Vaughn Leland), but he didn't want to truly face up to it and openly defy Jock over something so serious. Ewing 23 was (subconsciously?) just an excuse for him to break away.Looking back on it, there was just no way Jock and J.R. were going to let Cliff share in Ewing Oil profits of anything. What would have happened if JR's shooting was fatal in the big cliffhanger of the early years?
I was so mad at Miss Ellie for doing this. Maybe this was because of the times, but I didn’t like the way Clayton tried to position himself as the head of the family. He was Miss Ellie’s new husband. He was not the boys new father. I didn't like Jocks picture being moved out, even though I liked it at Ewing Oil. Jock died. Clayton should have been more respectful of the family’s love for him and memory of him. He needed to be clear with Bobby and JR that he wasn’t truing to replace their father. She probably shouldn’t have given half of Southfork to Clayton and he probably shouldn’t have even accepted it knowing that it would cause problems. With that being said, Miss Ellie had every legal right to do what she did. And what exactly could JR do about it?
I’m also sure Miss Ellie was smart enough to have it in her will that if she would died before Clayton and after Clayton died, that Southfork would go to either JR or Bobby.
Regardless of where you stand on this, she should have absolutely talked to JR & Bobby before doing thisIn most circumstances, I would agree 100%. But this is more complicated than that. We know Clayton is a fair man and I don’t believe he’s do this, but what if Miss Ellie didn’t think it through and didn’t put a provision in her will about ownership if she dies before Clayton and he’s left as the owner of Southfork. What’s to keep him from willing it off to Dusty?
JR does! The funny part is that J.R. came up with the plan in the first place!
Who even thinks like that?
Rewatching the series, I see a lot of flaws in Bobby I didn’t see before. The writers must have done their research on spoiled kids because they nailed Bobby leaving Southfork down to a T. One thing I know about spoiled kids that whenever a parent that usually gives them whatever they want, goes against them, they don’t know how to deal with it and overreact.

I didn’t like the removing of the painting either but looking back on it now and putting myself in Clayton’s shoes I do get it. It was making him very uncomfortable and it has to be hard looking at the picture of your wife’s first husband every time you walk in what is now your own living room. Maybe if they put it in a different room perhaps? Maybe a room Clayton would never go in that much? That would’ve made it less awkward for him but I did like having the painting at Ewing Oil also. It made sense.I didn't like Jocks picture being moved out, even though I liked it at Ewing Oil
Fully agree. The notion of Clayton as Head of the family is bogus. It is a disgrace to the memory of Jock,I was so mad at Miss Ellie for doing this.
