Different character names on DYNASTY?

Sofia instead of Kirby - yeah, ironically Joseph decided to name his daughter after Sophia Loren, but to add a personal touch he decided to spell it Sofia.

Its certainly nicer than "Kirby", but... "Golden Girls."

Actually, the more I thought about it, the more I like it. And after all, Dynasty's 3rd season aired 2 years before Golden Girls premiered (I think).

Only, I think some of the characters ought to refer to her as "Sofie" as an affectionate nickname. It could be a subtle use of showing how each character views her, like Fallon and Jeff call her "Sofie" because they think she is unassuming and sweet, whereas Adam always calls her "Sofia" because he thinks she's sexy and perfect to be his mistress/wife.

That could even be how Adam tries to allure her, by promising to make "Sofie Anders" into "Sofia Carrington."

Aw, but I was just getting to like "Sofia"! I don't see why we can't have both names. After all, Sable had two names: her lover, Zach Powers, was always referring to her as "Sabella" as a way of marking her as his own. (Heh, she even had *three* names, thanks to Alexis.)

Although, I'd constantly hear that name and expect Peter to show up... for obvious reasons.

I agree with UnPrincipaled, an average name like "Michael" is not the best choice for a prince. Everyone could be a "Michael", not everyone could be a prince.
At the very least they could have called him "Mikael" (pronounced as Mi-ka-el). Or any other name from the BelAmi catalogue.

As a reference to the legend of Adam's alleged first wife, Lilith? It would make her coming back for revenge in season 8 rather interesting - especially if we renamed Dana "Eve."

How about we changed Kirby's name to Caprice? It has a ring that the name might be classically European by the American aspirational classes standards but not so much by Europeans themselves.
