Hollyoaks have excelled this week. Thoroughly enjoyable if not completely nuts but that's Hollyoaks and only they could pull this off.

I will miss Verity and thought Eva O'Hara has something glamorous about her without emphasizing it . The others who left this year I didn't care too much about except maybe Marnie.

But how much longer can they use Bobby as a killer? The young actor is really terrific but I don't see how such a part with a child who is a cold-blooded psycho killer can last? But I wouldn't mind if he's killing Olivia before written out - for how she upstaged him on stage.

I have enjoyed the Christmas episodes so far. I did smile at James and Ste and the mistletoe. Poor James :)

Who done murked Verity? She was super excellent but some cad with the morals of gutter rat only packed her off to soap opera heaven. Now she can trade war stories with Al.

The Juliet Nightingale cancer storyline has been excellent so far. Niamh Blackshaw has been outstanding. Hollyoaks leading the way and showing the other soaps how good the younger cast can be.

Juliet's storyline is being beautifully handled. On two occasions she had me welling up. All credit to the young actors portraying this storyline.

Hollyoaks is certainly going through a purple patch at the moment.
