@Willie Oleson would you bring back Nancy as well? I always wanted to see her and Nellie lock horns. Did they ever end up sharing a scene together? I’m going blank now. Maybe in New Beginnings when Nellie returned?

i haven't watched Little house in years but the later years when she grew up i don't think i have seen that much of i've watched more of the years when she was still a kid more than her teenage years. i suppose that's all that was played for years well when i used to watch it anyways. it's weird that i get used to watching her as a young girl and than when i watch the later years it just feels weird seeing her all grown up in the later seasons. am alone in this?

CC would make the "Blind School" into a front for a whorehouse, since the blind kids won't know what the hell's going on around them anyway. All the "volunteer work" the men of Walnut Grove logged at the school have curiously not made the place any nicer then when they opened. Jonathan Garvey inadvertently spills the beans when he claims he spent the night at the Blind School 'laying pipe'. Mrs. Garvey suddenly realizes no one has indoor plumbing in 1885 and hits Jonathan over the head with a frying pan.

Yes, Nancy became very jealous when Nellie visited her parents.
I'd bring Nancy back as Reverend Alden's niece and she has a secret crush on Pa Ingalls and she's going to gaslight Caroline - much to the delight of Harriet who thinks that her nemesis has gone crazy.
It all ends in a spectacular cliffhanger that will kill off....
Rhoda and Phyllis were other competitors at the time too against Little House at one point.
But Phyllis was struggling in the ratings hence a retool, and James L Brooks was the guy who split up Rhoda and Joe, which infamously started to kill that show, which probably helped Landon's show in both cases.
(James L Brooks - who later found himself at the centre of disputes with Tracey Ullman and William Devane for credit with The Simpsons and Phenom- as his company Gracie Films was responsible for both)

I think the show still has an audience as my Laura & Almanzo video on YouTube has the most views of all my videos. I also get comments from fans that are in their teenage years. But I agree with you that most reboots don't work. I suppose you have heard the horrible news that SVT wants to reboot "Saltkråkan"?
I am really not looking forward to that!

has anyone seen Happy Birthday to me? it's a (1981) horror movie that had a twist at the end and it starred the girl that played Mary she's the lead in it and it's i think a pretty stellar horror film that is vastly i think underrated. she did the film because she wanted to be known for something else other than being on Little House and i can understand that and i don't blame her either but it's a favorite of mine and it's 2 hrs long! you don't often see horror movies that long at least not in (1981) i'm not saying there aren't any but when Horror was huge in the early 80's to the mid 80's whenever it wore out from over saturation of the market they normally weren't that long that's all.
I've got that on Blu-Ray.

The other Melissa, Melissa Gilbert, was later in a U.S. remake of Birds of A Feather called Stand By Your Man for Fox. She was the version of Linda Robson's character, while the Pauline Quirke and Lesley Joseph roles were played by Rosie O'Donnell and Mariam Flynn. The Alun Lewis/Douglas McFerran role was played by Sam McMurray.
The late Allan McKeown, who was EP on the original, had a hand in this one as his WitzEnd production company made it with Fox, which will explain the Sam McMurray casting given Allan's wife is Tracey Ullman. And no, it wasn't popular or remembered.

I see your point. Woke-ness has overtaken Hollywood at the expense of historical accuracy or common sense. The producers of Bridgerton have said the show is set in an "alternate history". "Alternate history"?! Is that like "alternate facts"? The NBC version of The Sound of Music cast Audra McDonald as the Mother Superior - in 1930s Austria. I love Audra McDonald as much as anyone with ears but that casting simply doesn't make sense.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Little House remake features an openly gay or lesbian couple and a strong Black female mayor or sheriff - in 1870s Walnut Grove, Minnesota.

This is my fear as well, because the woke-ness is now compulsory, not preferable or suggested. If you don't make the show sufficiently diverse, then you incur the wrath of the woke-ists. Except diversity of thought, of course---no way would they allow any of that.
No matter how hard Hollywood tries to shove their agenda down our throats and call us names if we don't go along, people will (and already are) reacting against it in the tried-and-true way: voting with our remote control. I mean, look at how no one wants to watch awards shows any more. Within a few years the Oscars will have worse ratings than the Dynasty reboot.

It's amazing to see how all these classic TV series still resonate, even when most of the original cast (and many of the fans) have since passed away.
I guess these reunions will end when the last of the TV generation has gone, and that makes the reunions that are still happening extra special.
