Hi @Barbara Fan thank you for your questions!

oh you lucky thing!! Especially this time of year, its beautiful in the fall
Here in New Jersey peak foliage happens around Halloween and the beginning of November. The colors can be dependent on the amount of previous seasons rain or snowfall. I think it also depends on how early it gets cold with overnight low temperatures. We had a week of chilly temperatures over night in the 30s (Fahrenheit) in the middle of September. So far this year the foliage has started to turn a bit, I think it also depends on the type of tree. There are a few that I noticed started to change a little in August. Just a couple of weeks ago I noticed a bit more color along the highway on my way home from work one afternoon.

A few questions
:sure:

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
My mom told me once that you should always think about the other people you interact with and that you don’t know what is going on in their day or life and what and how you say something could affect them. Basically think before you speak. I try to live this everyday.

What are your top 5 fav Cop shows?
In no particular order: SWAT ( the current series), lethal weapon ( I was not happy when they sacked clayne Crawford), law & order (only the original and Los Angeles), prodigal son, Charlie’s Angels (though this is a detective show), the blacklist ( more fbi than cop).

Have you ever travelled outside of USA?
Yes, Ireland and Bermuda. There is more detail in my response to @Michelle Stevens

How many states have you visited and do you have a favourite?
Oh I must look at a map to count, 25, half the nation. My favorite is Vermont. I went school in Vermont. I just like it there, it’s relaxing and easy going and I have a lot of good memories.

Hi @Michelle Stevens (I wonder any relation to Darren, Samantha, tabitha, and Andrew :giggle:)

I wish, I could have conquered Ewing Oil easier with witchcraft than relying on my tight skirt. :p

I have only ever traveled to Ireland and Bermuda. Some backstory here. My grandparents decided to move to Ireland in the early 70s and lived outside of Dublin on the Dublin bay. From their house you could see the James Joyce tower. When I was a kid we visited them one summer (I believe it was the summer of 1980). My faint recollection of the trip I remember trying to swim in the bay and the water was freezing and I swallowed a bunch of water and did NOT enjoy it as it was very salty. I can also remember going to a public indoor pool and refusing to go in the water because apparently swim caps were required and I didn’t like that. I was persnickety child I guess lol
I mean really, swim caps? The nerve! LOL
The second time I went was as an adult in 2000 when my grandfather passed. It was a fast 4 day trip. At the point they were living in dun laoghaire.

That is a great series of memories of Ireland.

My grandparents also had a house in Bermuda on grape bay. The two times I visited there was at the holidays. I have a lot of memories of the house there which was named halcyon.

Very lovely. Your grandparents gave you an opportunity to see the world. You are very fortunate. :)

Within the US I have traveled the entire eastern seaboard and south as well as Michigan, and California (San Francisco, Monterrey, and Carmel by the sea)

A lovely part of California. I assume you traveled over this bridge while in Cali, on Highway 1?

Thank you for taking your time to answering these question. :ty:

Isn't it a bigger crime that Je Ne Sais Pourquoi is included? At #11 (!!) How easily we're enamoured by a few French words (and yet nothing in the song rhyms with it!)
Also, interesting that the #29 and #1 are ranked as not best/best for basically the same reason.
This is quite funny, because I’m listening to my super Kylie playlist this evening and when I got to this post just now this song was playing. It’s beat is ok but was pure background music. Again I don’t remember having heard it before this year. I can take it or leave it. I’m surprised that the number 1 was not something from fever, but spinning around is a good song. Perhaps it’s the authors preference.
Your disco needs you reminds me so much of the pet shops boys New York City boy from nightlife 1999. It has a retro sound that was popular in 1999 -> 2000.

Do you like any sports?
Hi @superman fan hmmmm I do not recall seeing you around here, perhaps there is a secret identity.....anyway it’s nice to meet you and thank you for your question.
I like baseball and tennis. I don’t watch baseball on tv as I find that boring. I prefer to be at the stadium or ball field to watch. The last time I went to a game was in June 2008 New York Mets vs Los Angeles Dodgers. The Mets won 6-1. This was also the last season the Mets played in Shea Stadium.
Tennis you can focus more watching it on tv, but I haven’t watched any of the slams in the last several years.

As a fellow Days of Our Lives fan--you are magically transported into the world of Salem as a new character--which of the core families, Brady, Horton, Kiriakis, DiMera would you want to be the newest member of and why?
Thank you @Jason73 love this, don’t even have to think about it. The bradys. Because they are seemingly the most family oriented and laid back family on the show. Yes they have their issues, but in the end they all love each other.
I don’t quite get that feeling from any of the other families.

Hi @Angela Channing :yo:

Have you ever seen Kylie perform live? Do you go to concerts? If you do, what's the best one you've been to?
I have not seen Kylie live though I would love to. I have been to a number of concerts but not recently. I will expand a little as I actually have 4 that were really great concerts I’ve been to that I really enjoyed.
U2 at giants stadium in 1997
Joe Walsh at the beacon theater in New York also in 1997 (he had 2 drummers that were so in sync it was great!)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer also at the beacon theater and also in 1997 (I went to a lot of concerts that year)
Nine Inch Nails at the then named izod arena in 2008. This was probably the best one there was so much energy.

What type of book do you like reading? Do you have a favourite book?
I like thrillers with a supernatural twist, mysteries and some modern literature. I like dean Koontz and his odd Thomas series. Koontz has one novel called the taking that is very eerie and the tone just captured me. It’s spooky, creepy and interesting. In one way it also leaves you feeling unsettled.

Hi @rlr718 , hope you're enjoying your week. Here are some questions for you:
Hi @pete lashmar nice to meet you, I don’t recall seeing you previously on these boards. Thank you for your questions.

1. If you could have a super power, what would it be a why?
Teleportation, I could save so much time and money without waiting and having vehicle expenses. I also could go anywhere I want to when I want to.

2. If you won the lottery jackpot what would be the first thing that you would buy?
Well actually the first thing I would do is pay off any debt. Then I would buy a new car then a modest house.

3. If you had a TARDIS (time machine), which event in history would you go back to, to find out what really happened?
I love history it’s fascinating. There are so many things that have happened that there are really no solid answers to in my opinion. For this I would say I would go way way back to see how the meteor that struck earth and killed off the dinosaurs effected the planet. How large it was what the effects were, how long it took to extinct the life on the planet. Kind of morbid I know. Lol

4. If you could live in a cartoon world, which character's world would you choose and why?
Presuming you mean cartoon tv shows or films, my choice would be bugs bunny’s looney toons world. Bugs is such a kook and would be fun to hang out with causing all kinds of havoc for Elmer, daffy, Marvin the Martian.

Thank you! I’m pretty fond of them but more so the Bermuda memories.

Very lovely. Your grandparents gave you an opportunity to see the world. You are very fortunate. :)
Yes, not a lot of it but a small part I’m grateful for.

A lovely part of California. I assume you traveled over this bridge while in Cali, on Highway 1?
Hmmmm I don’t remember that bridge. While in San Francisco we got around on the trolley cars, then went north to the Petrified forest with the giant redwoods. I know that bixbybridge near Monterey. This trip was 30 years ago. But I think I would remember that bridge.

Thank you for taking your time to answering these question. :ty:
Thank you for the conversation! :gotcha:

Thank for answering my questions so far, today I have 3 celebrity based questions for you.
  1. If Hollywood were to make a film of you life, who would be the most suitable actor to portray you? Is there a period of your life would be best for a film to cover?
  2. If you were having a dinner party and could invite 6 well known figures from any era, who would you invite?
  3. Who is the most famous person you have met?

Well Michelle Stevens did conspire with a former Jeannie in 1991. ;)

I couldn't resist. :hide:

Is the Muir Woods National Monument the forest you are speaking of, north of the city? Did you visit Alcatraz while in San Fran? I haven't been there in several years but a great area in the US to visit and I enjoy hearing what others have done while they were there.

Thank you for the conversation! :gotcha:

Hi @ rlr718 , it looks like you've had a busy week on this thread and its been an enjoyable read, have you enjoyed being in the spotlight?

I noticed you mentioned being a Member on SC a few years ago, (I think that was before my time), have you noticed if the forum has changed much since that then? and do you have any favourite threads on TT which you find yourself keep returning to?

Thanks.

Thank you for participating! Celeb based lets get to it.

If Hollywood were to make a film of you life, who would be the most suitable actor to portray you? Is there a period of your life would be best for a film to cover?
Ryan Reynolds, he is my doppelgänger. No I’m kidding. :jk:
My life is so ridiculously boring I would have to pay people to see it lol
This is my non-answer answer because I honestly don’t have one.

If you were having a dinner party and could invite 6 well known figures from any era, who would you invite?
George Washington
Farrah Fawcett
Dean Koontz
Kylie Minogue
Bram Stoker
Johan Sebastian Bach

Who is the most famous person you have met?
Well I met, though more like served Theresa guidice of the real housewives oh New Jersey, I was completely unimpressed with her. I met Kerry green who was in the goonies, she went to my high school and graduated with my sister.

Vermont is the best with Maine right behind it. Both should have just peaked with their foliage in the last week.

I honestly don’t know why I got so upset over the swimming cap. I guess I was just being a kid lol

I only got to visit my grandparents the 2 times in Ireland, when I was a kid and then asan adult, but that was when my grandfather passed. Bermuda, we went around the holidays, my grandparents weren’t there, they always spent Christmas in Ireland. My grandfather would take a dip in Dublin bay Christmas morning.
I liked their house in Ireland from what I can remember. But I remember more of the house in Bermuda. Inside and out.

Yes Muir Woods, I don’t know how I forgot the name. Also visited Alcatraz which was so interesting. The tour with headphones had a lot of info if I remember correctly. Also went over to the Oakland and Berkeley side of the bay. Sausalito over the golden gate. In San Francisco the trolley cars were great fun, fisherman’s wharf, all the neighborhoods of the city. I’d like to go back one day.

Yes, and I’ve spaced it out as my time allows. This has been fun, I’m glad I participated.

I think I was part of soapchat in 2014 or 2015. The crash was in 2016? It was definitely before that. I think @Ome had mentioned to me my I’d looked familiar. I think I used the same then, or the same email. I don’t think I was on SC long due to time and lack of. At the point I had a somewhat stressful job plus other things going on. But for the most it seems the same to me.

Well I joined because I watch days of our lives and this forum is also much broader than just us daytime soaps. From what I had gathered originally it was formed for fans of the prime time soaps the “big 4” as it has been named so back in track, I return to the daytime us soaps and music the most.

Thank you for answering my questions @rlr718
You’re welcome and thank you as well!

1. What's your opinion of the big soaps of the 80s that are popular around here?
They were all grand and over the top which is how soaps are supposed to be! It was the flaunting of the very rich during a time when the rich ruled (oh wait, that’s been like that for thousands of years)

2. Have you watched them, if so which one is your favorite?
I honestly have only seen a few episodes of dynasty. I’ve never seen knots landing or falcon crest and only clips of Dallas. So by default dynasty. I do know the histories from reading about them here and on the web. I did start nudynasty but fell behind and missed out on episodes because the cw app only has the 5 most recent episodes. I did watch melrose place for a few years and models inc as well as Central Park west. I’d like to revisit those and watch the big 4 from the beginning as well.

3. Since you're also a fellow Buffy fan, what's your opinion of the rumored reboot?
I have seen reports on this. My first thought Joss Whedon must be involved

I would be open to it but there are so many thing and directions in which they could go. My ultimate would be a slayer of the week format. Period pieces showcasing a different slayer and her story ala tales of the slayer. I find the mythos of the entire universe to be fascinating. I

4) Which one was better, BTVS or Angel?
Well I was going to put a gif in here but it seems it won’t paste in. :fist:
The gif basically is me being left speechless.

edit - I was able to figure it out thank you to @Jason73
I was going to answer with just these on this question. Oh and oops how did capt tightpants aka Caleb the preacher get in there.....

5) Who was your least favorite character and why?
Scott hope, he was merely a place holder for angel. And not much of one for that matter.

6) Which is your favorite movie with a Buffy/Angel actor/actresses?

The return with Sarah Michelle gellar. It’s a classic suspense with a supernatural twist. I thought well done and very under rated.

4) If you could decide a new forum section on tellytalk.net, what would that section be about?
I will need to think on this one and get back to you. I’m not sure at the moment.
@Emelee i didn’t forget about this. Radio, this could be lumped in with entertainment. There could be many facets to this such as broadcast radio, streaming radio, podcasts satellite, old time radio or radio shows. There are many options.
