Tokyo 2020

ARIGATO Japan, Tokyo and thanks for a wonderful Olympic Games and all the effort, planning and efficiency which went into a wonderful and memorable Games without fans - but they were exceptional and some wonderful individual and team performances

Some of the new sports have been so exciting, BMX bikes in particular and Congrats to all the medal winners - especially Jason Kenny on his 7th gold Olympic medal and Im so chuffed for Laura Muir getting a silver

I am gutted for some of the GB atheletes where injury meant they werent able to compete, Dina, Adam Gemeli (i missed his wonderful smile) and KJT, Hopefully Paris 2024 will give them another opportunity

Highlights for me non UK atheletes , Karsten Warholm in 400 hurdles, Sifan Hassan - what an athelete, Jacob Ingebritsen in 1500m, Sydney McLaughlin 400m
Ive enjoyed all the track and field and I have also enjoyed Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendeleton, Lutalo Muhammed, Denise Lewis and wonderful Michael Johnson and Hazel Irvine for their presenting skills

I cant say the same about A S , dreadful, embarassing and one to FWD

There is something missing tho, Usain Bolt was such a figure head for sport and its missing his presence, Im not sure who will step into his shoes, but roll on Paris 2024, hopefully pandemic will be over, no masks and visitors/specators will be allowed

I cant wait!!

Looking forwards to the Paralympics, always very humbling to watch and make you appreciate how fortunate most of us are.
As someone who wanted to play professional sports more than anything but just wasn’t quite good enough to make it, I’m always humbled by watching these events. It makes me realize how lucky I am and that I have no right to complain about anything. I’m amazed at how these athletes can do what they do despite their disabilities.
