Sometime around season 15, the Carringtons discover that they have an Indian burial in their backyard, leading to the introduction of Mohawk Eagle Feather Wind Sun Emeralds Glistening Something.
Sadly, the character was hastily written out in a midseason retooling due to protests of being offensive to everyone with US Magazine even commenting about "Dynasty keeps hitting new depths of desperation to draw in an audience... any audience".

I'd like a character called Ryne Davis (pronounced "Rhine") that comes on some time post-Moldavia, therefore providing some side stories involving.... ummm.... I don't know. Maybe she could be some one tied to Claudia's Matthew, whose love child died in infancy and she sets out destroy Claudia.

Prentice Colby McDower: She arrives in the Colbyco offices, confronts Alexis, and is revealed to be Cecil's stowaway common-law-wife from New York, whose coming to Denver to claim what she believes to be rightfully hers.
Chastity Dexter: Dex's sister, who shows up at the intro of the fifth season, stirs up trouble with Sammy Jo and Amanda, whom she feels isn't good enough for her brother. At the same time, she's weirdly admiral of Alexis, who, as it's revealed, she plans to succeed as head of Colbyco. She dies in the Moldavian Massacre.
James Inglewood: Steven's gold-digging, playboy boyfriend he has a fling with following Luke's death in Moldavia. Despite concerns from Alexis, Blake, Krystle, Fallon, and the rest, Steven fails to see James' true intentions, until learning he's the illegitimate son of Craig Inglewood, a man sent to prison years ago because of Blake.
Evonna Lloyd: Brady's daughter, spiteful of Dominique, who is found dead in the La Mirage pool. Her death naturally sparks interest; was it suicide, accidental, or homicide? Several are suspects, especially Dominique and Jackie, but the death is eventually ruled accidental.
Ivory Prescott: Heir to the Prescott Hotel fortune, daughter of Victor and Tamela Prescott, who has eyes for Jeff, Adam, Steven, and Dex, all at different times. She's eager for love or lust, it doesn't matter. She dies in the La Mirage hotel fire along with Claudia.
Xavier Holt: Ambitious businessman who starts as an intern for Blake in season two. He unsuccessfully pursues Fallon, but scores with Alexis and Sammy Jo, causing a spitfire tongue war between the two women, before Xavier bolts out of Denver in a stolen Colbyco automobile, only to be caught and gun down in a police brawl.
Jeremiah Newcomb: A charismatic religious leader, hence the erased plan to have Leslie and Steven both engrossed by religion in season seven. He's handsome, not particularly obviously devilishly, but tries to pressure Leslie and Steven into a mass suicide.

Detective John David "J.D." Brenner: A slick, handsome detective investigating the murder of Evonna Lloyd. His good, clean track record is thrown off when he falls for Sammy Jo, whose in the midst of a Krystle/Rita look-alike mess.
Veronica Hoffman: Beautiful, but vindictive Denver socialite, whose thirty-year marriage to Alistar Hoffman has just ended at the start of season eight. This introduces the Hoffmans.
AnaLee Hoffman: Veronica's daughter, who causes trouble for Adam and Dana. Adam's feelings for Dana and AnaLee conflict his mind and drive him harder into alcoholism.
Nathan Hoffman: Veronica's son, a lawyer, who has eyes for Alexis, but whose romance is thwarted by her involvement with Sean. They do have a brief fling, however.
Joshua Emerson: Alexis' chauffeur, who is working secretly for the former owners of the Denver Mirror to have Alexis dethroned.

The Hoffmans exit because story lines were scarce, and the producers felt they were pulling too much screen time away from series heavyweights. Likewise, it would have given us fans a family to either entirely despise, tolerate, or wished more had been done with, similar to the Ortega situation over in the Tuscany Valley.
Cameron Cole: fashion photographer that wants to turn Sammy Jo into a supermodel in season seven. He falls for her, but the innocent crush turns into obsession. He kidnaps her and hides her away in his cabin in the Colorado mountains. She's rescued by Dex and Steven, who argue over who loves her more. Cameron escapes punishment, and is never heard of again.

I recollect reading an article where there were discussions about having Leslie being the religious leader, and Steven being conformed by religion, some time around the seventh year. In my alternate universe, I wanted to see an entirely new character, Jeremiah Newcomb, be this charismatic cult leader that lends a seemingly good-willed hand to Leslie and Steven. His intentions aren't obviously devious, but his eyes spell D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R. The mass suicide spectacle could have provided a good season-end cliffhanger.

I remember this thread, but I could have sworn that there was an article from some magazine of the era that hinted at Leslie and Steven getting involved in religion, and one with cultish overtones, of course.

Gertrude and Hortense Cavendish-Fortescue: eccentric spinster great-aunts of the Morell and Scott sisters. Hortense is virtually deaf and Gertrude repeats what others have said (loudly) so her sister can understand. They act as a Greek Chorus and object to most of the behavior they observe.
