Lots of goodies have come my way this week.

Blondie - Parallel Lines
The first album I bought, however, was on cassette back then.

Adam and the Ants - Kings of the Wild Frontier

Again, I had this on cassette originally.

ELO - Time

I never owned this one, it was my uncle who introduced this to me along with War of the Worlds.

New Order - Confusion

There is a limit on the 12" records I will buy, and it's usually because I can't get the original versions on Spotify.

Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret - Soft Cell

A friend of a friend has pulled out of Soft Cell's concert this weekend, so I was given a free ticket to replace that friend, and it's the 40th anniversary of their first album, which arrived in my post yesterday

Lots of goodies have come my way this week.

Oh my goodness. These look absolutely amazing!! What a haul.

Blondie - Parallel Lines
The first album I bought, however, was on cassette back then.

I've seen this album cover many, many times, but it's never looked as good as in your picture. It really goes to show that some covers are really meant to be seen in 12" format. This is where records have it huge over any other formats.

The sleeves look in top notch condition as well. You're obviously sourcing them very wisely.

Culture Club - Colour By Numbers

Another that looks incredibly right as a vinyl sleeve to see the colours pop and all the little details.

Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret - Soft Cell

This is great. I love how it manages to be Eighties and vintage at the same time (I mean vintage even by Eighties standards, even though the Eighties themselves are now inexplicably vintage).

Do you know I don't think I've seen this before and I'm not even sure I knew what Soft Cell looked like.

A friend of a friend has pulled out of Soft Cell's concert this weekend, so I was given a free ticket to replace that friend, and it's the 40th anniversary of their first album, which arrived in my post yesterday

That's amazing, and I'm glad that ticket's gone to you as you'll really appreciate it. Have a wonderful time!!

Thunder in the Mountains 7" - Toyah

Beautiful. This will look so good alongside Brave New World.

ABBA - Voyage. :danc::dance1::dance1::danc:

I never thought there would be a time when I could buy a new ABBA album. But I could and I couldn't be happier. I got the CD and have been listening to it non-stop since it arrived. It's great!:ribbon:

And all bargains Ranging from £1:50 (Culture Club) to £20 (Soft Cell)

I’ve been very lucky, played all, over the last couple of days and only one track had a problem and that was on the Adam & the Ants album. That cost £1:99 so, while it’s a slight disappointment, I really cannot grumble.

It’s a real treat been able to admire these albums in their original glory.

Do you know I don't think I've seen this before and I'm not even sure I knew what Soft Cell looked like.
Oh, wow!

You must recognise Marc Almond with him going on to have a solo career, including his big number one with Gene Pitney.

Beautiful. This will look so good alongside Brave New World.
Yes, and the B-sides look awesome too, I’ll take a couple of shots to share with you later.

I’ve just been looking at their set list from Wednesday night and there is 25 songs including the full 12” version of Bedsitter.

D'oh! Of course. I knew that, but I didn't recognise him alongside the other fellow, so I suppose I meant I don't know what Soft Cell looks like as a group.

Oh, yes please.

Sounds like a long set. I hope you're either seated or wearing comfortable shoes. :D

More wonderful vinyl landed last week and I have more on order. I’ve gone a bit crazy, and I’ve promised myself that I will stop buying any more this year. Thankfully, there are just a few more weeks left and not months.

Oh my. This is just stunning.

I love that it matches the red rising suns on the cover. And the translucent finish is very nice.

Consider me envious!!

I was worried about this one. I hadn’t looked to check if the sleeve was gatefold and in decent condition. My lack of research here was overtaken by the joy of how cheap it was.

I have no idea if there is a TKFF album that isn’t gatefold, but know that I’ve been caught out before.

The Altered Images album Pinky Blue is a double album that I automatically thought would be gatefold and turns out both vinyl are in one thick sleeve.

Yes, I suppose sometimes the risk is worth it if you know it's a real bargain either way. It must have been a good feeling when it arrived with the gatefold in all its glory.

Nor me. I know my copy had the gatefold, but I suppose it's possible there were later pressings that cut down on costs a bit. Perhaps international editions, too, were different.

That sounds a little disappointing, but I guess i that's how it was originally released at least you've got an authentic version. The thick sleeve at least suggests it's meant to be like that.

This reminded me. I had this album on CD and I cannot remember if that image from the gatefold was on the CD version. I do remember it wasn’t a gatefold CD sleeve.

I’m not sure if this was ever a thing back in the 80s or if it’s part of a redistribution of the vinyl. I had it on CD, but all the tracks fit on one disc. You’re right about the thick sleeve.

On my CD copy, sadly, the front cover is the only image. The back and all interiors of the case and booklet are just plain text.

Oh, I see. Was this a new one then, rather than a vintage copy?
