Lots of goodies have come my way this week.
Blondie - Parallel Lines
The first album I bought, however, was on cassette back then.
Culture Club - Colour By Numbers
Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret - Soft Cell
A friend of a friend has pulled out of Soft Cell's concert this weekend, so I was given a free ticket to replace that friend, and it's the 40th anniversary of their first album, which arrived in my post yesterday
Thunder in the Mountains 7" - Toyah
And all bargains Ranging from £1:50 (Culture Club) to £20 (Soft Cell)Oh my goodness. These look absolutely amazing!! What a haul.
I’ve been very lucky, played all, over the last couple of days and only one track had a problem and that was on the Adam & the Ants album. That cost £1:99 so, while it’s a slight disappointment, I really cannot grumble.sleeves look in top notch condition as well. You're obviously sourcing them very wisely.
It’s a real treat been able to admire these albums in their original glory.Another that looks incredibly right as a vinyl sleeve to see the colours pop and all the little details
Oh, wow!Do you know I don't think I've seen this before and I'm not even sure I knew what Soft Cell looked like.
Yes, and the B-sides look awesome too, I’ll take a couple of shots to share with you later.Beautiful. This will look so good alongside Brave New World.
I’ve just been looking at their set list from Wednesday night and there is 25 songs including the full 12” version of Bedsitter. That's amazing, and I'm glad that ticket's gone to you as you'll really appreciate it. Have a wonderful time!!

You must recognise Marc Almond with him going on to have a solo career

Minx - Toyah. I wasn’t going to buy this album, then I saw it was red vinyl and how could I ignore that?
Here are the Toyah b-sides toOh, yes please.
The Kids from Fame - The Kids from Fame
I was worried about this one. I hadn’t looked to check if the sleeve was gatefold and in decent condition. My lack of research here was overtaken by the joy of how cheap it was.

I have no idea if there is a TKFF album that isn’t gatefold
I’ve been caught out before.
The Altered Images album Pinky Blue is a double album that I automatically thought would be gatefold and turns out both vinyl are in one thick sleeve.
This reminded me. I had this album on CD and I cannot remember if that image from the gatefold was on the CD version. I do remember it wasn’t a gatefold CD sleeve.Perhaps international editions, too, were different.
I’m not sure if this was ever a thing back in the 80s or if it’s part of a redistribution of the vinyl. I had it on CD, but all the tracks fit on one disc. You’re right about the thick sleeve.I guess i that's how it was originally released at least you've got an authentic version. The thick sleeve at least suggests it's meant to be like that.

Yes, while I had it on CD, I never had it on vinyl and it was the double album that swayed my ‘should I buy or not’ dilemma.Oh, I see. Was this a new one then, rather than a vintage copy
