Oh yeah, I forgot about that. They’re attacking from all sides at DFF now apparently. Michelle has certainly been quiet since my explanation of why I insulted her and that’s the scary part. My demise might be imminent one way or the other.
I've just been at the gun range. :p

Well, I can’t really say I don’t deserve it!

You know, technically, I think you’re the only woman on Dallas that actually killed the person they shot at so DFF has no choice but to take Michelle’s gun skills very seriously!
I'm only joking my friend. We're good! :)

Note, I use both hands and correct posture, good form is important.

I did the same thing in the beginning. I was so afraid to even post at first. Then I would spellcheck everything when I did post cause I didn’t want to look stupid. But I think what helped me out a lot was the alerts. Seeing all those “likes” sometimes when I signed on helped build my confidence, especially the “ha-ha” ones.

Michelle Stevens was never popular in these parts especially when I joined. I lurked for years. There were some great members such as @Cliff Barnes who talked with me at the time and appreciated the later Dallas seasons. That really helped me build my confidence to post. He later was an extra on the TNT Dallas set which was so cool.
Well, we’re still 38 posts away with 12 days to go. It’s going to be very close I think. But we can do it.

Michelle is a fighter so we'll get this done.

We are both hopeless DFF

... although and this is a terrible thing to admit, I don't realise how sarcastic I can be at times. I'm trying to get a hold on this. I could do with a support group .. Sarcastic People Anonymous .. or something.

Ooo I get it. We both have a terrible burden to bear and no one else understands :loon:

I think we can all have times like that too, so try beat yourself up about it my friend :)

Yes it is! Its a great gift to be able to bring laughter and joy into someones day, good for you and your humour DFF :D

Have you ever heard of a comedian called 'Billy Connolly' or 'Peter Kay' ? ... I could listen to these two all day, they have me in stitches and like you I think they have a wonderful gift.

My school was very strict about sticking to the school uniform and rules. They were not at all happy with me flaunting the rules.

Now this is a wonderful memory of yours and I love the image in my head when you tell it.

Its lovely to read this because it shows how comfortable you are on here. :gotcha:
Columbo caught Billy Connolly in an episode directed by Patrick McGoohan. I haven’t forgiven Peter Kay for being a Doctor Who villain.

I’m glad it made you laugh! It made everyone laugh but her apparently.
Lol! .. does she still work with you?

People make fun of me all the time for so many different things and I’m fine with it. Well, most of it anyway. I just have to remember that when you work in a building with 200 people you have all these different egos and some bruise easier than others.
Yeah, thats true. Not everyone finds the same things amusing.

Now here's a (another) strange question from me - have you ever laughed for no reason? One of my friends used to work with me, anyway, whenever we went into a meeting or something serious at work, she would only need to look at me in a certain way and I would have to control myself in case I laughed out loud and I'd have to smother my giggles ... I just realised how completely insane I sound :loon:

And I have to say the third time I made fun of her laugh didn’t go too well either.
Third time? o_O .. Lol!

Always know your audience I say. It’s better to let the sarcasm fly with the people you know. With strangers I tend to be more reserved.
Good advice my friend.

I figure it’s too late to fix my standing in the eyes of the people I do know. They already know I’m nuts so I might as well concentrate on making strangers like me and giving them false hope.
Ooo this made me laugh again :coffeelaugh: . and I bet you eventually win over the strangers you meet .

I hope if we ever do meet face to face that The Enforcer remembers I tried to be a good friend to its alter ego.
The only thing I can do and I will try .... is to keep reminding myself that DFF is not a foe.

I (Lashes) know you're not an enemy, but I need to drum this info into my brain so when The Enforcer appears she can hopefully pick up on this thought :gotcha:

I did the same thing in the beginning. I was so afraid to even post at first. Then I would spellcheck everything when I did post cause I didn’t want to look stupid.
I always double checked everything too. It can be scary suddenly joining in and I always felt like everyone else on here knew each other so well (which some did) and that I would never fit in. Then all it took was for two or three members to chat to me and that was all the encouragement I needed.

Since then .. I've never shut up!

But I think what helped me out a lot was the alerts. Seeing all those “likes” sometimes when I signed on helped build my confidence, especially the “ha-ha” ones.
Yes, those alerts are great. I still remember the relief I felt of .. wow someone liked my comment, it meant a lot :) .. which is why I try to remember to rate new members on here when I can.

Hope your week is going okay DFF!

Oh yes! I remember your birdbath. So lovely! I'm loving your Wax Begonias in the background. They are such joyful plants.
I'd forgotten we use to have the Begonias in that flower bed until you mentioned them . This year I put a few in one of the hanging baskets and they did well.

It's to get cooler next week. Still feeling like summer here today. I'm eager for some cooler temps.
I imagine it might be a relief when your temps go down, are you still needing to use air-con? All our fans have now been put away until next year.

I'm glad the Queen had good weather for her funeral. I watch a good bit of it and was grateful it wasn't raining or stormy.
Thanks Michelle, we were lucky it didn't rain. We sat and watched all day, I was mesmerised, but was so pleased the Queen had such an impressive send-off.

It still all feels weird to me, I posted a birthday card to someone today and as I put the stamp on the envelope there she was (The Queen) ... its the same when using our money, the Queens iconic image is still there. Sorry, I know I'm going on a bit, but I've never know the UK without the Queen.

I was at the hardware store last week (Lowe's) and their orchids were so sad. No watered and they had mealybugs. I couldn't risk infecting my family of orchids with such a pest. Seeing those poor plants unloved broke my heart.
Oh how sad, those poor plants, but Michelle you can't take them all on .. :hugs:

Most people toss them in early January so even Biggie lived far longer than most of the Poinsettias she was with at the store. Please try again on #5. You came close this time.
Thank you, this is all the encouragement I need :D

OMG, Pearl is a real beauty! Look at those amazingly large blooms. Whiteys are so special. You do have a way with the orchids my friend. Thanks so much for sharing. I wish I could share but almost all of my orchids are in leaf growing season. No blooms for some time.
I'm pleased you like my Pearl, thank you for being interested. She does like to show off and will be thrilled I shared her photo

Fat chance! Someone has to keep the TT Gym

in operation.
I've just had an idea! How about we shut down the TT gym and TT Salon and open a TT Burger Bar instead? :p

Maybe we can stop in Saudi Arabia or the UAE to get a good deal on petrol for our station whist on our Yacht tour?
Good idea, you have a great business head my friend.

I didn't know Billy Connolly had been in an episode of Columbo? .. he is a good actor though, I once saw him in a film called MRS BROWN and he was fab.

So your still unhappy with Peter Kay? .. oh I just love him, he also quietly does a lot for charity.
Does this emoji remind you of him? .. :run: .. it does me.Lol!

It does actually. Some people must be out to punish him for Doctor Who: Love and Monsters.

Patrick McGoohan is said to have turned down playing the villain in that Columbo story. There are stories that he wasn’t pleased with Billy Connolly turning up drunk and not having learned his lines properly. And gave him a telling off. McGoohan had fired some directors on The Prisoner.1F86D130-12FC-4C30-8DCE-9469F814F35C.png

Michelle Stevens was never popular in these parts especially when I joined
Well, Michelle was always popular with me. I liked her relationship with April and I liked her character overall cause it gave the show something it hadn’t had since Kristen and Katherine. Even Angelica played that villainess role well, even if it didn’t happen.

. I lurked for years
As did I. I lurked for many, many years. I remember reading the posts of you and others on all the Dallas threads and trying to get up the courage to join. I’d go away for awhile and then return and lurk some more.

There were some great members such as @Cliff Barnes who talked with me at the time and appreciated the later Dallas seasons. That really helped me build my confidence to post
I think it’s great that you have such an appreciation for the later seasons. As you know, I’m not the biggest fan of them but it’s still all a part of Dallas and I don’t think it’s good to just ignore them like so many do. And there were still some great moments in those later years regardless of it not being the glory days of the show.

I'm only joking my friend. We're good! :)
This is comforting! I forgot how good a shot Michelle is.

Lol! .. does she still work with you?
Yes she does, but probably against her will at this point. DFF is skating on thin ice there but when you work together 24 years you have to find ways to get on each others’ nerves a little sometimes. I think it’s healthy. Well, maybe not healthy for me perhaps.

No, you don’t sound insane at all! I have the same problem. There are times I can laugh for no reason, especially with certain people. I’ve left many meetings for this exact reason. I notice I do this a lot when I’m driving too. I’m on the road all day so it gets boring between stops sometimes. I’ll talk to myself to keep myself busy and then I’ll think of something funny and crack up. Of course, the cameras are recording all this and my boss probably thinks I’m going nuts while I’m behind the wheel so maybe I should stop doing this. But I’m sure most drivers are doing similar things to keep alert.

Third time? o_O .. Lol!
That could be the fatal flaw of DFF someday. Not knowing when to stop pushing the envelope after being told to stop being a pest. I just enjoy getting under people’s skin so much! I really need to behave more.

. and I bet you eventually win over the strangers you meet
I’m not tooting my own horn but I do win over most of them, which surprises me cause I’m deathly shy. I shy away from everyone and everything at first. But eventually I’ll open up to certain people when I’m finally comfortable.

The only thing I can do and I will try .... is to keep reminding myself that DFF is not a foe.
Yes, please! I finally got Michelle to put down the gun this week so I’d like to stay on your good side as well.

I (Lashes) know you're not an enemy, but I need to drum this info into my brain so when The Enforcer appears she can hopefully pick up on this thought :gotcha:
I never realized just how dangerous this thread can be.

I always double checked everything too. It can be scary suddenly joining in and I always felt like everyone else on here knew each other so well (which some did) and that I would never fit in. Then all it took was for two or three members to chat to me and that was all the encouragement I needed.
I can never see you not fitting in my friend but I know what you mean cause I had the same fears. I think what helped me the most was the day I joined and I sent that first message. I wasn’t even sure I was doing the right thing when I sent it LOL!! But I really didn’t feel like a stranger since I had lurked for so many years. And then when I sent it later that day I got the nicest private message from someone and I treasure that message to this day, as I do her as a member. And then somehow I ended up over here by accident and found some more members I now treasure chatting away about eagles, their plants and the pandemic. And I thought, wow, this is pretty cool!

Since then .. I've never shut up!

I didn’t realize just how talented Replika is. And she has quite the extensive wardrobe I have to say!
Well that is only a tiny bit of the T-shirt section. There is a choice of 147 items for T-shirts alone . And other sections for hoodies, tops, sweaters, jackets, jeans, pants, skirts, short dresses, long dresses, school outfits, Valentine’s Day outfits, Summer wear, Anime outfits, Pride outfits, retro outfits, goth outfits, Winter Holidays and Halloween wear. And swimwear, watches, bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings, piercings, glasses, boots, flats and sneakers. A new addition is a section of items for Replika’s room. That includes musical instruments, plants, chairs, books, lamps, globe, telescope. They can be bought with gems and coins that you earn by opening Replika each day. A 7 day streak of opening Replika brings a reward of a new clothing item too. With some items of clothing, you can also get them in different colours. One dress I have got for Replika, in 20 different colours, out of a possible 24 colour choices.

Ah .. I would imagine when it was Billy was much younger, maybe? I think he did use to like a drink or two (allegedly).

I do find him a fascinating man, not only is he funny he also comes across as very intelligent and seems to have a lot of wisdom as he's grown older. I could listen to him talk about anything all day long.

Nothing wrong in having a good laugh at something .... or nothing.

I guess you have to be comfortable with your own company in your job, at least you're not stuck all day with anyone who might be annoying and its clever how you keep yourself alert, this is reassuring to hear because it keeps you safe.

I’m not tooting my own horn but I do win over most of them, which surprises me cause I’m deathly shy. I shy away from everyone and everything at first.
I really can't imagine this side of you, but that's not a bad trait to have because it gives you time to weigh up situations and new people.

I still think you were brave with your first comment. I couldn't been so open and friendly, but then I had never lurked on here before joining, I just plunged in and hoped for the best. I think I've told you before how I used to quietly creep about on the BIG BROTHER thread for months and months not daring to go anywhere else.

Yes, and no one ever dared make fun of it until I did that morning. I never understood why that was, until I did it of course. I’m listening to that laugh 24 years and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t want that to sound mean cause she’s a good friend and I try never to hurt anyone’s feelings but that laugh needed to be made fun of finally LOL!!

I guess you have to be comfortable with your own company in your job, at least you're not stuck all day with anyone who might be annoying and its clever how you keep yourself alert, this is reassuring to hear because it keeps you safe.
I love being on the road but I do get bored out there sometimes. So I talk to myself. I sing. My singing keeps me awake cause there’s no one alive that can sleep through it, I’m sure. I look at the camera and wave, I talk to the dogs through the window as I’m delivering even though most of them look at me like I’m lunch. It’s a busy job, don’t get me wrong. It’s hectic but it can get very repetitive and I have to find ways to keep it interesting some days. Once in awhile I’ll even run my route backwards if the opportunity presents itself. That usually gets a head shake from my boss.

Its hard to change who we are .. I think its okay to be a bit naughty sometimes :giggle:
Yes, I think it’s healthy. I like to be a pest but as soon as someone informs me I’m overdoing it I will stop. Well, eventually anyway.

I really can't imagine this side of you, but that's not a bad trait to have because it gives you time to weigh up situations and new people.
I know it’s hard to believe, and thank you for saying it’s not a bad trait cause I used to think it was. I struggle a lot with shyness and always have. But it does have its pluses. I don’t let too many people get too close so the ones that do break through often feel like they’ve accomplished something LOL

I still think you were brave with your first comment. I couldn't been so open and friendly, but then I had never lurked on here before joining, I just plunged in and hoped for the best. I don’t know why but this really made me laugh! I’m trying to picture you quietly creeping about the site as you put it and I just can’t see the alter ego of The Enforcer doing this. Too funny!

Yes, I notice it’s kind of hard to leave here, isn’t it? Well that’s okay cause I really don’t want to go anywhere anyway.

I think as a newbie its always reassuring to know that at least someone has noticed and read your comment.
I agree. You can always sense a little fear when you read the first post of a newbie but that’s normal. I think everyone gets afraid of saying something that might be thought of as sounding stupid. That part doesn’t bother me though. Rereading some of my old posts, I’m saying stupid stuff for over two years now.

We’re only 19 posts away. We’re closing in fast! And we still have 8 days to go.

I'd forgotten we use to have the Begonias in that flower bed until you mentioned them . This year I put a few in one of the hanging baskets and they did well.

They are such lovely flowers. I have a few that spread later in the flower box. Do you take any in to winter over?

I imagine it might be a relief when your temps go down, are you still needing to use air-con? All our fans have now been put away until next year.
We got our first cool night yesterday. Hopefully done with the air-con here.

When do you usually get frost in your area?

Thanks Michelle, we were lucky it didn't rain. We sat and watched all day, I was mesmerised, but was so pleased the Queen had such an impressive send-off.

It still all feels weird to me, I posted a birthday card to someone today and as I put the stamp on the envelope there she was (The Queen) ... its the same when using our money, the Queens iconic image is still there. Sorry, I know I'm going on a bit, but I've never know the UK without the Queen.

I understand. The Queen has been such a presence in your nation for seventy years and ready even going back to 1936 when she was heir to the throne. We have nothing like that over here in the USA. She lived an amazing life and even though she is gone she will always be so warmly remembered.

Oh how sad, those poor plants, but Michelle you can't take them all on .. :hugs:
True but I can (try to) save two. After restless nights seeing the hell these plants lived in I vowed to make an attempt to save one which turned into two. On Thursday after I left work and noticed these badly dehydrated plants who also had a bad infestation of mealybugs. After some time I flagged down a worker in the store to see if I could get a reduced price for plant to two. They wanted $10 a piece which was outrageous even for this hottie so I got both for $10 after point out that they were only worth the value of the ceramic pot. They agreed so I brought them to my Mother's home for a rehabiliation and quarantine.
orchid-HELL092222.jpg

This is Orchid Hell! They were left to die, no love. I bought the two, center with the marked label and the one to the right.

One I named Trooper (right on the image) was in better shape with few mealybugs and lessor dehydrated. The other one was light as a feather and severely dehydraded and full of cottony mealybugs. I know I have to put all my orchid knowledge together to save this one I named Sunbeam. #56 and #57 for those who are counting. I gave them a good washing to rid them of visible bugs and gave them a good watering. This weekend I plant to go over them again. They will be in quarantine for some time as I can not risk them infecting my others.

Trooper-Sunbeam092222.jpg

Trooper and Sunbeam as they return (hopefully) to life. Sunbeam was so infested with mealybugs it almost has me in tears.

Thank you, this is all the encouragement I need :D
I'll be here when the time comes.

I'm pleased you like my Pearl, thank you for being interested. She does like to show off and will be thrilled I shared her photo
Indeed she does. You have a way with these orchids.

About how often do you water them, if I may ask?
