With the start of the 1982-1983 Dallas season I learned that due to the stress of Cliff's attempted suicide, Sue Ellen's hair suddenly got shorter !!

I also learned that overnight the offices of Ewing Oil were replaced with others and that this oil company has department heads !!!

Wasn't it all a family affair until now? !!!!

Question @southfork88

I'm assuming the episodes you are watching is the HD (High Definition) version. If so does the restoration process give us long-time Dallas fans a new appreciation of this brilliant series?

Certainly the HD image is an artefact compared to the original version due to bright colours, disappeared defects, etc., but the result is astonishing and really gives new life to a TV classic like Dallas.

Is it safe to say now that the new HD episodes are not going to released in a new Bluray set?

Yesterday I saw that when Cliff attempted suicide at the end of the 1981-1982 season, doctors said he might change his personality.

Maybe all of this, combined with neurofibromatosis, could have transformed Cliff into the vile monster shown on TNT nuDallas.

In Italy, it has been well known since 1992 that Dallas is of no interest to anyone, except me and a few others.

And for this reason I wonder why Warner TV Italy spent money to search for the original dubbing, insert a new dubbing for many other episodes and subtitles in some scenes perhaps cut in Italy in the 1980s.

I continue to be happily shocked. I would not have bet 1 euro if someone had told me about it.

So… never say never about Blu-Rays or other physical media options in the future !

It seems that the re-dubbing was made in 2005 and 2008.

I know that page because personally wrote the "Un parere sul Telefilm" section.

It seems to me there are many more episodes that have been re-dubbed.

Will there be the original dubbing of the seasons after the Pamela's dream in 1985-1986? However, it must be recognized that work was done in Italy to combine Dallas HD with dubbing

I hope someone watches it every morning, I struggle a lot, having to go to work.

Thanks a lot LB, that´s amazing info for me. You can check out my own Italian dubbing cast here:

And the Italian episode list too:

Any correction is welcome. I hope you can enjoy the most episodes with the original dubbing!

Reading your list of episode titles in Italian, it appears that many were different from the literal translation from English and especially by broadcasting 2 together for the last season, some titles are totally unknown.

Bravo... a great research work.

Here are some dates "discovered" today:

1) Margaret Krebbs: 1920-1961.

2) Celebrating the 30th Oil Barons Ball in 1982.

3) First wedding of JR and Sue Ellen: February 15, 1970.

4) Second wedding of JR and Sue Ellen: December 3, 1982.

Has anyone figured out if Aunt Lil Trotter was Margaret Hunter's sister or Amos Krebbs's? I've been changing my mind on this subject for decades.

It's funnier to think she was Margaret 's so there was a double dose of incest in Lucy's relationship with Mickey... She knew how to choose them....like JR used to say....

I always loved the character of Pam and Victoria Principal's interpretation, but at the end of the 1982-1983 season can say that if I were Bobby Ewing would have tired of her a long time ago !

Any excuse was good to complain and argue with her husband. The list of these excuses (some of them justified) would be really very long ...

Or her repeated leaving of him, for numerous, creaky reasons -- even taking the baby Bobby bought for her as she goes -- over the same old "family issues." Not that I ever felt that bad for smug Bobby (who looks, to me, like a firer -- I wonder how the Ewing Oil secretarial pool downstairs felt about him) but Pam's frequent running out on him seemed excessive.

It's been said before that Pam was the character least-defined on DALLAS, the one whose motives were adjustable based on what the writers needed her to do. Patrick later referred to Pam as "pig-stick nutty," but I prefer to blame the neurofibromatosis Pam didn't know she had until after her hellish crash into that tanker and would eventually take her life!

Krystle ran off (sometimes for good cause) on Blake multiple times, too. So watch your gold-diggers -- they need our support. And they usually wind up miscarrying, depressed, and in lengthy comas wrapped in muslin and on an I.V. drip.

With the 1983-1984 season the character of Sue Ellen dresses exclusively Giorgio Armani.
I've got Armani sunglasses. Should i feel like Sue Ellen with them?

Sure. With those sunglasses you could seduce Peter Richards.

As reported several times, in the 1983-1984 season Priscilla Presley could be considered a decent actress.

I don't understand how she became progressively worse starting from the following season, hitting the bottom of her acting at end of the experience in Dallas.

We could consider the 1983-1984 season the first to be purely glamorous, with redundant dialogues more similar to a daytime soap opera.

Cliff begins to be represented as a clown (two dialogues with Pam however let us glimpse his dark side); Bobby as the adult version of the little Christopher, a puppet that makes faces; Katherine absolutely evil, comparable only to Jessica.
