I had thoughts it was Fallon but then there was the twist. A real pity the writers continually try to bamboozle us us with shock and awe. My concern now is where does this go? Will we see the real Blake (you know, the ruthless Blake Carrington we're constantly told about) kick Alexis, Anders, Kirby, Steven and Sam to the curb? Or will the writers wimp out and leave the aforementioned characters in the Carrington mansion.

I have to give it to the writers that much as their vision of DYNASTY is not what I would have liked in the reboot, they obviously have pored over the original. There are too many scenes where they are alluding it to it, from Blake and Cristal's flight to Miami for chinese being like Blake and Krystle's flight to San Francisco to Toscani the therapist, to the paternity twist, to the "butler did it" reference to ill-fated Joseph in the original, and on and on (in fact there was also a line they used but now I forget).

Hopefully she has watched plenty of soaps and has the good sense to wait until their wedding (which is probably next week the rate things are moving).

It depends on what they read here. If the audience doesn't like it, they'll undo the whole crap with another twist absolutely out of character. And if the audience doesn't like Cristal #2, maybe Cristal # 1 will be back from the crypt Helena Cassadine is helding her hostage? Or maybe a Cristal # 3 will be introduced ? ( spoil: she will be an expert at flying UFO)

Its like they put the whole oldDynasty stuff, plots, characters, in a big shaker to make this bloody dynasty cocktail and well... come what may... I suspect they are as much surprised as we are when they're watching the show they' re supposed to be in charge of...

I think Melissa's baby is in fact Steven's and she changed her mind only because it doesn't pay off anymore but something tells me she would change it again if Steven turned out to be Carrington.

I was still in shock when (I think) I heard her say she'd gotten her 'gyno' (gynecologist) to impregnate her? Did I hear that right? I guess we're left to wonder if she got IVF or if he just did it the old-fashioned way.

I know some people weren't fond of how easily they closed down Melissa's whole scheme/plotline, but I actually thought it was great. It's what daytime soaps refer to as a 'plot abortion'. You see such rapid/jarring plot abortions when a show is trying to change course or correct 'mistakes' of the previous season. But is this really the last we'll see of her? If Steven and Sam decide to adopt a baby after all this (and spoilers tend to indicate that), would they be stupid enough to ask to adopt hers?

Totally right --- these folks really know oldDYNASTY (and we know this isn't because of the nonagenarian Shapiros' "participation" in the reboot --- because, aside from their age, we know damned well they don't know their own show this well, either).

Oh, if only Cynthia Cidre had bothered with even a third of this degree of familiarizing herself with the original.

I know some people weren't fond of how easily they closed down Melissa's whole scheme/plotline, but I actually thought it was great. It's what daytime soaps refer to as a 'plot abortion'.

The daytime soap I do watch, The Bold and The Beautiful, is notorious for multiple plot abortions every trimester. The upside is that we are never left with a plot dragging on when nobody cares (Rita and Joel on DYNASTY, I am looking at you). The downside is that sometimes the switch from plot to plot also means that a lot of good actors/characters are dropped together with the plot. I am afraid this happened here as well and we will never see Melissa again, which is a shame.

Yes. You heard that correctly. And if that is the end of Melissa I think it's a shame because I think Kelly Rutherford has a lot to offer in a series like Dynasty as she has that classic/classy beauty look.

I was hoping for the Amanda reveal. But Adam’s reveal is still in question. Blake actually mentioned him this episode so they want the viewers to remember Adam.

I’m wondering if Liam’s uncle is actually dead. The hooker/escort who Fallon paid could report to the blonde Culhane dealt with. (I love that actress. She was amazing on USA’s Satisfaction. I love her voice. And her aura.) There has yet to be a funeral and he could be in on it. We saw a quick glimpse of him presumably dead, but it’s a soap, so he might not be.

Then there’s the whole Fallon lusting after Liam again. It’s Fallon/Michael Torrence again. I still think he’s Adam. I am upset his book went up in flames, I’m sure he has a copy, but annoyed they dropped that storyline. But maybe they wanted to introduce his family before revealing the book. Especially now that Fallon stuck up for him against his mom, she might ask to read it and then we’ll actually understand the book

So I've decided to give the show another go and three episodes into season two and I'm still hanging in there (just about). It all feels a bit unfocused right now but I'm guessing that may be as a result of them trying to undo some of last season's arcs and get the thrust of the new season going. They'd previously said that this season would focus much more on the mother daughter dynamic between Fallon and Alexis but they've barely shared a scene together in these first three episodes. I'm presuming they'll band together once the new Cristal becomes more of a threat. Speaking of the new Cristal, isn't this kind of a redoing of the previous Cristal (a woman who is pretending to be something that she is not?).

I would've liked Kelly Rutherford to have hung around a bit longer as I like her (Megan was one of my favourite characters from later period Melrose Place). Her storyline being wrapped up in about three lines was abrupt and stank of writer's dumping something that they didn't feel was working. Hopefully she might be back in the future.

The Joseph being Steven's father revelation is quite the twist but what are they going to do with it? Having Carringtons not be Carringtons only serves to dilute the dynastic element of Dynasty IMO. On the subject of Anders, Kirby is obviously supposed to be the new Sammy Jo type troublemaker but I'm not really feeling her. The shouty "I'm back bitch" stuff just doesn't wash with me. I get that she's pissed with the family but I'm finding her a bit much. Also, what is the purpose of the Colbys? I know that they announced that were actually Carringtons at the end of last season but they feel like they're off to the sidelines.

Anyway, I could go on but my main feeling about this season so far, is that it's a bit all over the place and they really need to draw them all back into the mansion and have the family duke it out, rather than having all these sideline distractions like the Van Kirks and Ada Stone (although Katherine LaNasa is a welcome addition to any cast).

I just realized something: we've been given another incentive for Alexis to want to get back together with Blake: so Steven can become a "real" Carrington. Of course, Blake has already disinherited both his children, but if Alexis uses some "wifely persuasion" on him, she could change that. Unless, of course, something happens to drive Blake right into the arms of a certain Hispanic spa-owner...
