Here in Australia we can go months without rain and my country is notorious for severe droughts. When good rain finally arrives nothing beats that fresh smell.

What made me happy today was the two slices of pizza I had for lunch.
We’ve never gone months here that I can remember. Usually it’s a few weeks at most. By the way it’s still raining for two days straight now but at least it’s cooled things down a little.

That I recently purchased an old NBC Sports stadium banner from EBay (of the 1979-86 Proud N) that the Peacock Network used as a sort of means of saying that NBC Sports was doing something somewhere; it could usually be seen by the stands at whatever sports venue/event NBC Sports was (college football bowl games, college basketball, MLB, NFL, you name it).
It's going to be hanging up above my bed in my room, and you'll see a picture when it is.

I went to a favorite fast-food place for lunch today. Apparently sometime before I came in, "the system" (the front registers) had crashed. The lady at the counter was trying to "revive" the system and one of the others asked "Your usual?" since I always order the same thing. I said yes without thinking about it. She was still pressing buttons and swiping a card as the tray ended up on the pickup counter. "It's your lucky day..." she said in frustration and said the meal was on the house since she had no way of ringing it up yet. The system was just coming back up when I had finished eating. So there IS such a thing as a free lunch, or at least there was this afternoon.

What makes me happy is when someone in a position of authority does me a huge favor they really don’t have to do and pulls me out of a mess I made (like today.) And it really doesn’t hurt when you find out why they did it, which I was told in this case was simply because they like me.

What has made me happy today is that my air conditioner is fixed and working again. Not the time of year to be without AC in the southeastern U.S.!
