Exactly. And it's disgusting and blatantly racist.People are right to be angered by these vile acts, of course, but it's often used by bad faith actors as an excuse to demonize all undocumented immigrants.

Yes, which is why I’m surprised she’s not going to be the nominee. When President Obama was said to be holding back his support of Harris I thought that might mean something but apparently not. Harris has raised more money in a 24 hour period than any candidate in history so I guess she really doesn’t need the former president’s endorsement at this point. For someone who apparently has "no interest in running," Michelle Obama's name certainly gets floated around a lot
Yeah, it pretty much feels like a done deal at this point. I'm honestly amazed at the speed this has come together. There were rumblings of dissention less than 24 hours ago.Yes, which is why I’m surprised she’s not going to be the nominee. If I had to guess I’d say we will probably get one. As a former prosecutor and now a presidential candidate during such a crazy time of uncertainty and transition you would think she’d want that opportunity. Interestingly in 2020 I thought she debated her position much better once we got to the vice presidential debates than she did earlier on.I really hope there's a debate between Trump and Harris. Harris floundered in 2020 while debating Tulsi Gabbard, so it would be interesting to see how she does now.
Don't count Obama out just yet. He appears to be one of the head puppet masters who is in control and I wouldn't be surprised if a deal has been made that either Michelle or Deval Patrick will be the VP pick. They don't really want Kammie, she is just the next puppet that will be used to install who they really want to be President.Yes, which is why I’m surprised she’s not going to be the nominee. I thought Kamala put in a very strong showing against Mike Pence in the previous VP debate and also against Biden when she was running for the democratic nomination. I think Trump will have a lot more to worry about than he did when he debated Biden. If I had to guess I’d say we will probably get one. I never saw Harris debate Pence, but her critiques of Biden were spot on. That's the best I've seen from her so far.I thought Kamala put in a very strong showing against Mike Pence in the previous VP debate and also against Biden when she was running for the democratic nomination. Playing the race card when others disagree with you shows who the intolerant racist is.Exactly. And it's disgusting and blatantly racist.
And here's my argument for a preferential voting system.I would honestly consider a "protest vote" or a no vote of I lived in a safe state (either way). Unfortunately, I am in a purple swing state and every vote counts. A vote for anyone other than Harris (or whoever the Dem nominee turns out to be) is in reality a vote for Trump.
I'm not sure why Michelle Obama's name keeps coming up. There's precious little chance of her being drafted for anything as far as I can see.I wouldn't be surprised if a deal has been made that either Michelle or Deval Patrick will be the VP pick.
That would be the most fair and democratic, which is why the two major parties in the US oppose it.And here's my argument for a preferential voting system.
Obama definitely has a card up his sleeve by not endorsing Harris, what exactly that card is remains to be seen. Dr. Jill's secret meeting with Deval Patrick in Boston means something as well. Whatever it is, it will be the same damaging Democrat product with different packaging. And here's my argument for a preferential voting system.

Hey, I'm not the one on here calling human beings animals.Playing the race card when others disagree with you shows who the intolerant racist is.
That lame cliché is typically what people say when they don't want to engage with the substance of the issue. Unquestionably, a lot of the fervour against migrants is fuelled by racism. The USA, like the UK, is a racist country and pretending otherwise is dishonest.Playing the race card when others disagree with you shows who the intolerant racist is.
I don't think so. Obama originally wanted a open contest because he thought that would strengthen the legitimacy of the eventual winner. However, all the viable alternatives to Kamala have backed her candidacy so any contest now would be meaningless. I suspect that Obama will give his full throated support to Kamala's campaign very soon.Obama definitely has a card up his sleeve by not endorsing Harris, what exactly that card is remains to be seen. When they brutally rape and murder children they are animals, just saying.Hey, I'm not the one on here calling human beings animals.
/Just sayin'

I think you are overstating the influence that Deval Patrick has on the nomination, and for that matter Dr Biden now that Joe has withdrawn. What on earth could be significant about those 2 meeting? What is it with right wingers and conspiracy theories?
Earlier this week I listened to the latest edition of The Rest Is Politics USA podcast and on it Anthony Scaramucci, Trump's former White House Communications Director, described the USA as being a "racist country". So this opinion is not just mine, a black, left-wing Briton, but also that of a white, right-wing American, and I suspect many others too from a wide range of backgrounds. Why do we think this? Well, because just about every metric you look at provides evidence to support this opinion. There's no doubt that the founders of America were racist, and racist policies were the norm until the 1960s. However, is modern day America still fundamentally racist?
If people are going to call a country racist, it would be nice if they were more specific. Are we talking the citizens, the government, or all of the above? It's interesting how racism is based in stereotypes and generalizations, as there is no bigger generalization than calling an entire country racist. The other issue I have is people often talk about racism as if it only comes from white people. Yes, bigoted views of immigrants and people of color are vile, but the growing hatred of white people is just as vile. And yet we're just supposed to pretend that's not a thing while only talking about white supremacists. People often justify hatred of whites by saying "we" are racist towards people of color. Again, that's fighting stereotype-based bigotry with stereotype-based bigotry. Not all white people are racist, yet we're often assumed to be based strictly on our skin color.
