It's been quite a while since I visited this thread, and I've bought a number of complete series in the meantime.

Some sitcoms...

Till Death isn't quite complete since some b/w episodes were wiped, but it's as complete as it's possible to get.

And a couple of Blu-rays...

The Widows BD is technically three different series: Widows, Widows II and She's Out.

I imagine there'll be a tenth Up documentary in 2026, but this one is complete in the meantime.

A few new additions:

Notes:
An Audience With Jasper Carrott
is a six episode series rather than a special, which is why I include it here while similarly-titled one-off specials such as An Audience With Kenneth Williams or An Audience With Joan Rivers are excluded. It's also why I haven't included DVDs of Carrott's live shows such as Beat The Carrott.
A. J. Wentworth, B. A.
has given me a massive headache about where to place it alphabetically in my list and on my shelf. Were it an actor's name it would go under "W", but since the initials form part of the title there's an argument for it being listed under "A". I'm still not feeling great about it and I currently (and probably temporarily) have it under both ("W" in my list on page 1 / "A" on my shelf).

Oh - I nearly forgot this one. Up until this week I only had Seasons One to Eleven, but I now have the full set including the final season and movies:

This is amazing purchase @Mel O'Drama, this boxset looks really amazing and is completely complete including the movies. I have often thought enough to buy this series myself but I thought I already had so many series, but who knows for a good price I might buy it someday, I used to always watch it together with my Grandpa and Grandma when we there were Sundays. :)

Thanks PC. I'm really pleased with it. I don't think I've seen the movies before.

It's taken me a while to take the plunge with this one as it seemed very indulgent when I already own the first eleven seasons. As it turned out, it cost me less to buy the repackaged complete set than it would have done to buy the last season and movies on their own.

Part of me wondered if I should hold on until the entire series comes out on Blu-ray, as I'm sure it will quite soon (especially as I don't plan to watch it at the moment), but I've had this set on price watch for a long time, and I got an alert that it was on a special deal for a few days so I got a really good deal.

It's also bothered me that the DVD sets I bought over the years had different styles of packaging: Seasons One to Five were in one big boxset, while the other six were either thick digipaks with slipcases or the repackaged versions with standard plastic DVD cases. It's nice to have the whole thing in one set which takes up far less space than my previous incomplete collection.

That's lovely. Like you, I have fond memories of watching it with the family, and it used to air on Sundays in the UK as well. I remember watching it sometimes around 7:45pm, then later it was on at teatime and in the afternoons.

We have a channel here that airs back-to-back episodes for most of the day on Sunday, so the tradition seems to be carrying on.

I've done that a couple of times myself, most notably with Xena; the six compact sets look much nicer and take up less space than the previous bulkier packaging which changed format partway through.

So many series do this. It's understandable that manufacturers are going to change packaging occasionally, usually to save themselves some money, but also to save space or even to do their bit for the environment. The most frustration comes, though when there isn't a choice - - perhaps half a series comes in one style and the other half another. Or the first few seasons come slipcased but later ones don't (as with Peyton Place). Or the case changes width from season to season (Dallas). Others switch to volumes after a couple of season (Dynasty and Melrose's US releases).

In the case of MSW, I think the packaging was at least consistent and many individual seasons seem to have been available in both styles. I actually prefer the bulkier versions with fold out digipak internals and a nice slipcase. For me it was the luck of the draw from buying from online retailers. Actually, they were all bought from the same retailer at the same time, and I did contact them to comment that they'd sent me different styles, but they sent me a response to point out that all the sets had been part of a massive pricing error where they're sold at a tenth of their intended price. I knew I'd had a bargain anyway, so I was really just relieved they'd honoured the sales rather than cancelling it as most would have done.

Me either, i can't remeber i've ever seen these movies before, and i also can't remember ever seen the finale seasons of Murder She Wrote.

It's taken me a while to take the plunge with this one as it seemed very indulgent when I already own the first eleven seasons. As it turned out, it cost me less to buy the repackaged complete set than it would have done to buy the last season and movies on their own.

Yes, that is indeed a pity that you have to have one more season to complete the series, and the individual seasons are indeed more expensive than if you buy the entire series at once, i have it Beverly Hills 90210, i still miss the last three seasons but i don't want to spend 40/50,- euro's on one season, but on the other hand i don't want to buy it again, so after seeing season 7 i will proberly going to sell this series and make room for other tv-shows that i really want.

I saw that the complete Murder she Wrote DVD box set here is about $95,- euro's with the movies included, that's about $5-7,- euro's per season, that's a bargain for sure, but I read that all the DVDs in on spindle are stacked on top of each other, and that's something I don't want with my DVDs, so I guess I'll just wait for the blu-ray releases when they come out. You can always sell your dvd boxset later if the Blu-ray comes out.

Yes i know what you mean, i hate those differend dvd-boxes too, I have it to with many tv-shows like Miami Vice, Magnum P.I. and Melrose Place, later they became thinner so it looks very weird in my dvd cabinet.

Yes it's also nice to have a childhood memory with my Grandma and Grandpa, and indeed Murder She Wrote always came on tv here too on Sunday, i think it was also around 19:00 pm on tv, because we always watch it after dinner.

I first got introduced to that when I got my copy of the latest all-in-one of The Streets of San Francisco; it took me a little while to understand how to work it, but eventually I got used to it; my copies of that, The Untouchables and Emergency! are like that.

I just saw a video review video on youtube about this boxset that, and it's not that bad as i fought it would be with the number of dvd's that are stacked on top of each other, I just wonder if they are not more vulnerable, but maybe it also depends on how you handle them. ;)

Yes that's right, usually the DVDs are often stacked per season and so on, I've also seen this with other series that i own, but I was first afraid it was one big spindle that I've seen in the stores many years ago before, those are the worst nightmare a collector can have.
