I bought three toilet clappers off of Amazon. They should be here this afternoon so I can install them tonight.

I had stored one in the basement, but the criminally aloof plumber used it on my equipment without telling me when they visited in January, charged me for it, and then I no longer had it in store when my other toilet clapper broke this morning.

Also this morning, I took all the plastic to the recycling place behind the high school, deposited my tax refund checks at the bank, mailed one of the only utility bills I don't yet have on Autopay, and then stopped by the QuikTrip for a huge Coke Zero and two trashy pieces of breakfast pizza because I was feeling -- quite rightly -- bad about myself and thought I needed to be punished.

Is that what you meant with this thread, @kenneth ?

Three good things happened today: my weekly boring, pointless, nerve-wracking, time-consuming interview at the Job Centre was cancelled; I found the water bottle I thought I'd lost at the gym (I've had it since 2021 which makes it one of my oldest possessions); and, best and most surprising of all, I discovered that the STV Player works on my slightly out-of-date laptop, which means I don't have to watch old reruns of Brookside on my phone and I can take screenshots of it.

Anything to make bad feelings lessen is well worth it.

My eyes opened this morning signaling I was awake and alive. That’s a good start right there.

Being here with all of you and interacting on these threads. I know it sounds corny but I’m sorry it does make me happy.

Realizing on the way home I still had about 30 miles left til I’m out of fuel which means I can put it off til tomorrow ‘cause I was too tired to stop.

The realization that my new shoes are working out very well.

That I neatened up my physical media collection, clearing out several places where I used to have discs (DVD, Blu and CD) to make more space on those shelves...

It happened yesterday, but still making me happy today (does that count? Judges....?)

I ran into a workplace-friend I had not seen in two years. It was so nice to see her and get caught up because I knew that she had quit under bad circumstances (a full year before I too quit under bad circumstances). I was so relieved to see she was okay and happy to hear that she'd become a grandmother. Life indeed goes on.
